When two of my Winter jackets that I mainly use for shopping, and light recreational use, gave problems with the zippers, I had to find an alternative. I looked at a number of options with little success, but this showed promise and doesn't disappoint. I wanted something water resistant, wind tolerant and warm with a good lining, and with zip pockets, A point on sizing. I would normally go for a medium, and I find this to be fine for say a thermal T shirt, shirt and jumper underneath, which is fine for my current UK Winter use. But if you want another layer underneath for colder conditions then a bigger size will probably be best, I think it really depends what you want it for. The main zipper works well both up and down, but I found that keeping the zipper straight by pulling the jacket down at the bottom, works best. The zipper toggle connector is a little fiddly until you get used to it. Three zip outer pockets, and one left inner, are all zippered, and are roomy enough for most things that I need to carry. The zips on the pockets work well. The zip detachable hood is a good idea, though it can be tricky to get back on until you get used to doing it. The hood fleece lining is warm and attaches at the chin with Velcro strips. When attached and down, the hood is unobtrusive and sits comfortably without being bulky. When up, there is enough room for a hat underneath (something like a beanie or a cap) which is handy when it's cold, and there are draw strings to pull it tauter if required. The main zipper comes up to the chin. there is also a flap with a pop connector at the top and bottom with two Velcro connectors in between which keeps the main zipper weather protected. The jackets come folded in a plastic bag, and there has been some mention in reviews about creasing. I found that many of these creases came out after washing and ironing, (though not entirely), but in use this isn't an issue for me as they only blend with normal wear creasing and isn't really noticeable. I feel that these jackets probably lean more towards practical use anyway, rather than the fashionable, (for which you would have to pay a lot more) although they are casually smart enough for general use. I'm impressed wit these jackets, and there has obviously been plenty of thought put into the design of them.They are well designed and featured jackets for anything like the asking price.

I normally need an XL, so that's the size I ordered and this is a good fit. Order your usual size.The only disappoitment when I first got the jacket was the extensive creasing from being so tightly wrapped. This was solved by ironing it with a tea towel protecting the fabric.As there had been some suggestion the jackets weren't waterproof, I fastened it up, hood on and stepped under the shower. The water ran off, as promised. I did find a flaw with that this afternnon however, as the water ran off the outside of the jacket, down the sleeves and into the pockets, where my hands had been warm and dry until then. That's the only bit of the jacket that got wet in prolonged very heavy rain and I was only wearing a t-shirt under it, yet stayed warm and dry and not sweaty. Lesson learned, I'll keep the pockets zipped shut in heavy rain in future.I'd happily recommend this jacket to anyone wanting one that's well made, warm and waterproof.

This outdoors coat is very good: warm, wind-proof and shower-proof. Not ultra light-weight, because lots of internal padding.Two deep pockets plus others, good zip, with velcro fixings to cover zip line, and easily does up to the neck line. Hood is ample sized, if you wanted to wear any hat with the coat. Not really a ski jacket, but good protection for cold and wet days.My only beef: the online size guide is way off.! Large was given as 51.2-54.3 (inches). More like 41.2-44.3 inches. But free returns and got the right size on second occasion, plus was reimbursed quickly for first purchase. So, you pay for a reorder and not a free replacement.

I was looking for a jacket for day-to-day wear and regular (short) motorcycle commutes. Being that my commute was only a couple of miles in town, I didn't feel the need for extreme waterproofedness and wanted something warm and not overly bulky/heavy like a purpose built bike jacket.It's certainly warm enough, with just a polo shirt beneath down to about zero degrees, and is windproof and water resistant enough for the job. A light shower will bead off but anything heavier will start to sink in after a few minutes. A little rain can get in the pockets in heavy downpours.The jacket would benefit from more and larger chest pockets as a four a pocket jacket barely covers my personal needs.Fit and finish are both good and sizing OK, no complaints after 6 weeks of ownership.

Appropriately bought on line, my www coat. Warm, windproof and waterproof.Delivered within a couple of days in a tightly bound plastic wrapper but dropped out immediately without creases when opened. It appeared, and proved to be, very warm and the gales last week proved it was windproof. This morning my dog walk in heavy rain also showed it to be waterproof. Obviously as it is not a full length jacket the rain would have run off and soaked my trousers if I did not have waterproof trousers as well so that is one thing to bear in mind. The hood is a sensible size and the zip strong, one problem I have had in other jackets. The pockets are a good size and take a pair if quite thick gloves easily.I usually buy a large size in shirts, jumpers etc but noting other comments re sizing I bought an extra large in this and that has proved to be a good decision. Fits me very well.All in all a very good jacket at a very good price. Highly recommended.

I don't ski but I could in this jacket, the size was perfect will have to consider matching trousers later on.
