Chromcraft Replacement Swivel & Tilt for Caster Chairs with Plastic Insert by Caster Chair Company

Each of my four Chromecraft chairs had varying degrees of wobble in the seat swivel assembly. I was pleased to find these exact replacements and started by ordering one swivel assembly. It arrived in about a week and I was surprised that it also including the plastic bushing.Installation of the metal swivel bracket is very easy. Replacing the bushing was tougher, I found a YouTube video showing that all it takes is a heavy hammer (I used an axe) and another hammer whose handle will fit in the vertical tube from the bottom, as a punch. Oh, and it needs a sturdy support for the overturned leg assembly as you apply a series of heavy blows to drive out the bushing!A perfect repair, so now I'm ordering another three bracket/bushing sets to overhaul the remaining chairs.

It’s so nice when a replacement part matches the quality of the original and fits like it’s supposed to. I recommend doing your research when ordering the right part. There are some really helpful videos on YouTube that explain how to tell the difference between Chromcraft and other makers. They are also really good at demonstrating how to remove your old parts and install the new ones. I ordered both the swivel/tilt and the bushing and was really glad I didn’t just get the bushing, as when I installed the new bushing in my existing swivel/tilt it still wobbled. I swapped out both and now the chair works like new.

It broke. The upper part of the mechanism came apart. Maybe weld was inferior.Please review and respond

Although the physical characteristics of the swivel/tilt mechanism differs slightly from the original, the new part fit perfectly. After installation the chair operates like new. No more squeaks, no more wobbling, just a firm swivel roak motion. Highly recommend this product.

These Chromcraft Replacement Swivel & Tilt unites are great.The chairs even though purchased new many years ago are still in excellent condition. We paid at the time about $300 to $400 per chair.The chairs are like new again with these unites and they are easy to install.I initially bought one just to verify it will work OK.After that experience, I bought three more.Update: 01/18/2019They are still working great.Hope they're still available when these wear out. The way these are made; that will be quite a while.

Swivel and tilt chair part DID NOT fit. Therefore, I am in the process of returning it to you for a refund.

I don't always need the bushing as a matter of fact I never had to replace one so for me just the brkt is fine especialy nif it brings the price down. The product (brkt.) itself however was an excellent fit so I rate you 5 stars

Was able to easily fix a kitchen chair that is approximately 20 years old. Reviews provided for this product were extremely helpful and was the reason for the purchase. Very pleased and happy with the outcome. To replace all chairs would have easily cost $1,000 but with the Chromcraft replacement, cost was under $50 and the chair now swivels and tilts like brand new. Excellent product and company.
