Perfect for little kids
My daughter broke her thumb and I wanted something after she got her cast off. This worked perfect for her little thumb (she is almost 6). It gives me peace knowing she has some extra protection after getting her cast off. Dr approved too!

Tip: Turn Velcro inside out
Perfect for using for broken thumb. I love having 3 so one can air or dry when I get it wet. I turned the Velcro upside down, prickly part in and smooth side out. That's preventing the Velcro from snagging on other material and it still works.

simple but effective
I overworked my thumb while staining our deck and it seemed to be progressing to trigger thumb. So I bought this set of splints for my thumb. The splint is quite comfortable because it has foam on the inside. It seemed to be compressing the top of my thumb a little too much, so I bent it a little to adjust and it fits fine now. I wore the splint day and night for almost a week, then reduced to nighttime and during light activities that might stress my thumb, avoiding all intense activities. I've had to use my left hand or ask my husband for help but the thumb is now doing great! I will continue to wear the splint like this for a few more weeks, just to be sure. The only thing I don't like about the splint is the velcro strap. It is well-designed but even though the rough side is on the inside, the edges were snagging my clothes. So I sewed a piece of wide elastic to fit and that has worked out fine. Also, it is easy to wash with some soap and water, though I wouldn't do this too often since the glue might not be waterproof. Note: I am a female with a ring size of 5-1/4.

You cannot maneuver well with it on , but it does keep fractured area straight to heal.
Did not work for me, uncomfortable , but that’s my opinion. It does give support if needed. I have mixed emotions about it!

Just the Thumb, and No Wrist Contraption ...
... is what I needed and this is what I got. Most thumb braces, while still effective, have a hold wrist system in place and it gets too hot and too cumbersome. This is easy to fit with a single small velcro strap and the metal casing gives you great protection. Go low profile while you're healing and pick these up.

Great for mallet finger injury
Nice surprise that the product arrived in blue aluminum. Need to wear for 12 weeks and find this splint comfy, aluminum is bendable so can be adjusted to not rub on joints that need to bend. I use with bandaids and invisible surgical tape for extra hold and comfort. The plastic splints doc provided are also helpful but not as comfy at joint bend and tends to slide off.

Works Perfect!
I severed the fingertip to the first knuckle 3 days ago. The Ortho clinic gave me a splint that fell right off after a simple adjustment to the Velcro for finger ROM exercises and kept falling off no matter what I did. I ordered this PDQ and adjusted the end a bit to make room for the bulbous swollen stump. It works perfectly, no complaints. Glad I have 3 to change out when they get dirty or wet.EDIT: Like the previous reviewer mentioned, the Velcro sticks to everything and it gets pulled off. When you wrap it around it only goes so far, so the side that does the catching is exposed, so it's constantly getting moved or flung off. I adjusted it by removing the Velcro, pulling out the foam at the top and then bending the thin metal to be more round. This enabled me to be able to close the main part tighter to my finger and it holds on without the Velcro. I took away a star because of the Velcro and having to modify it
