I needed a light for a crafting event on a Caribbean cruise in February 2025. This light was perfect! It takes AAA batteries that doesn't come with it, no problem. I used the case it was packaged in to keep it from being damaged in my checked luggage. The hardest part was cutting into the surrounding plastic. Once opened, insert the batteries and easy to use. Just lift the light and it comes on. Sleek looking. Now I can have an extra light wherever I need, very versatile and light weight. Take extra batteries just in case. Love it!! No more cords!!

Great portable light. Illumination is perfect for small projects. And the wavelength is color correct.

I really had high hopes for this Ott Portable light. I have used it twice now. The first time with three brand new batteries the light was good for 2 hours and then dimmed quickly to the point of it being useless. I bought rechargeable batteries and tried those. One hour and a half - and again the light dimmed to uselessness. This is unacceptable. I have purchased and use other Ott Lights and based in my experience I expected better from this brand. I am so very dissatisfied with this purchase. Don’t buy it!

It's a great little desk lamp if you're working somewhere that's a bit too dim, but the light it emits isn't as eye-searingly bright as I'd hoped. I know it might be asking a lot of a lamp at this size (round 10 inches) and price, but as much as I love the color temperature that it emits (crisp cool white) it still feels a bit too dull to paint to.I should also not that the neck only goes up and down, does not twist, and has a maximum angle of about 120 degrees, so you have to get right under the light to really work with it.STILL, that all said, I'm happy I bought it, and it's great for reading with or taking on a camping trip. Not sure how well it'd stand up to ambient dampness though so be sure to store it properly if you take it outdoors.

Love the convenience and portability. Use in art studio, crafting and in my closet. Easily can see differences in Navy and Black slacks now. Same on sock colors. Sturdy.

I had one of these before and it was nice and bright. I bought a different brand chargeable battery-operated light to replace the older one that just died for no apparent reason, but the other one wasn't bright enough but was concentrated so the light itself had too much of a glare.The other product also had no way of directing the light for practical use so it was like staring at a bare bulb. This product allows you to concentrate the light toward the area you'd like the light to be, so it provided nice light that isn't concentrated in your line of sight.There are drawbacks to the product though.1) When running on battery power alone, the batteries drain quite quickly. I would say the max usage is about three to four hours on battery power. If one intends to use this for blackouts during Winter when nights are longer, make sure you've got PLENTY of backup batteries.2) They DO NOT include a power plug, they expect you to use batteries to run it, but I did buy a separate all-purpose power cord (600mA) that allows me to plug the light in without worrying about using so many batteries.3) I'm not 100% sure, but it appears to me that Ottlite may have discontinued this item. That's a shame, it's a good light.

I really like the Ott Lite for reading and needle work. My only complaint is that the batteries don't last very long before the light starts to fade.
