I just received it and brushed my teeth right away. I already think this is the best toothpaste I've ever used. It got my teeth very clean and very white. That's not an exaggeration. My mouth and breath feels especially clean. I've had recurring gum problems/infection for several years, but I think this toothpaste, plus the tooth powder, is going to finally heal my gums. The flavor is pleasant, not strong or strange tasting.. The toothpaste is thick - had trouble squeezing it out of the tube, but that's ok. I also bought the Vicco tooth powder which is stronger medicinally than the toothpaste - for those people who have serious dental problems/infection etc. Feels very healing for my gums.

When I get a new article, I use it right away - like Xmas every time. If I get a new shampoo, I can't wait to wash my hair ( and so on). So when I received this yesterday, I brushed my teeth immediately and have twice more before sitting down to right this review.First, I too was put off by no foil wrapper sealing the tube. I have been conditioned to "know" that that means an item is safe to use (whatever). Reason for the 4 starts and not 5 but it may be an unfair judgement considering the herbal ingredients probably render the goo more microbe free than what gets processed in the US (I daresay).I took a chance and I've not been sick yet (it's been 18 hours) - I love this toothpaste! Reminiscent of another toothpaste I used a long time ago that I cannot find... My mouth feels clean and I swear my teeth are whiter already (I did not buy it for cosmetic purposes). I have ordered the powder which I expect will contain only ayurvedic components and no sorbitol, etc. I expected, based on reviews, for the taste of this paste to take getting used to but it's not shocking at all - kinda foamy and mildy minty with undertones of cinnamon.The intention is to get my husband to use it to get his gums back into shape. Been thinking of "oil pulling" but the horrific thought of triggering the gag reflex first thing in the morning has suppressed all the enthusiasm about committing to that task. Hopefully, between this paste and the powder that hasn't arrived yet, we'll see some results that will save us from swishing hard-to-find raw sunflower oil for 20 minutes as soon as you wake up.

The last time I purchased this on Amazon the "Best by" date was over a year old. The toothpaste was too hard to squeeze out. I did not check the date until I ran out and it was too late to return. Buy somewhere else. I see that Walmart also sells it.

It was a smaller tube than I recognized, and given the cost, it's overpriced. I do LOVE this toothpaste brand, however I'll get it in town retail next time-- half the price for twice the size-- that's 4 times the value.

I bought from this listing specifically because I did NOT want the export version, and I have had success with that with previous orders. However this time I received the export version and the ingredients do not match the pictures of the ingredients shown in the listing. It is also not eligible to be returned even though the product is different than what is shown.

Absolute lifesaver. I was having slight gum retraction from lack of dental cleanings this past year along with only flossing a couple times a week. I had a super bad sinus infection and suddenly my gums were incredibly inflamed and practically all my teeth on both sides were so painful I could barely eat. So I was using oragel which is only temporary fix and so I decided to buy this along with an electronic toothbrush and Parodontax. within days after a week and a half of torture I can actually chew and my inflammation has went down almost completely. So if you feel you have gingivitis or beginning stages of periodontitis get this along with Parodontax and an electric toothbrush. I will be adding a waterpik soon as well.

Have been experimenting with a few Ayurvedic toothpastes recently Vicco being one of them. This toothpaste has a brown color and has a unique herbal flavor yet not too strange for anyone new to these kind of products. Label states it contains 18 different barks & herbs so a good variety of natural ingredients which is what Ayurvedic products are all about. There are a few other toothpastes on amazon in this category i prefer that can be found for a cheaper price, but for the ingredients and health benefits of non-floridated products this is certainly one to consider and do not regret this purchase.
