Nice caddy
I am really pleased with this food caddy. I have tried many, and I can definitely say this is the best yet. It is very sturdy and holds a lot of recycling food waste and just looks nice in my kitchen! I use bags inside it so it stays spotless but I'm sure if you put the waste in directly without a bag, it would be easy to keep clean. It seals well so there are no nasty odours escaping. All in all, good value for money for a sturdy but nice looking addition to your kitchen.

Oxo quality
Great design, works really well. Looks okay too. Stays clean, lid stays open on its own, keeps smells too minimum.

Flush lid nice shape sturdy
The lid fits flush which I was worried about cause we've had fruit flies before and it doesnt seem to attract them after 5 weeks of use. Doesn't smell when the lids closed. Looks great, matches the appliances. Its easy to clean theres no fussy bits. Compost bag edge is hidden by the lid frame. Lid comes off and can then be separated from the frame..not sure it's meant to be removed by bending right back until it snaps off but that how I've been doing it and it seems fine, it snaps back on securely so really sturdy...I would check the instructions on that first though in case its just luck that it hasnt broken! It gets emptied probably twice a week, only starts getting wet inside if there's packet salad as that stuff rots quickly, but peelings and fruit seems fine. Can go on the counter but I keep it on the floor next to the bin so people remember put food in there instead of the bin! It's shiny, slick and ergonomic I love it..sad but these things make me happy 😊

Handy and sturdy food waste recycling bin
I keep my bin in the kitchen by the sink for any peelings from vegetables whilst I cook. I use a recyclable bag to hold the waste so I have less to clean when I throw the remains in my compost dalek or my green bin. The unit contains the smell really well and it is possible to open it easily whilst my hand is full of to peel directly into the large opening of the bin to avoid wasting water to capture peelings then rinse away residue after transfer to the bin.We are encouraged in our area to also put food leftovers or meat preparation waste in the green bin but I can’t bring myself to leave rotting remains in direct sunlight for up to a week and then throw them by hand into the green bin as the bags (even recyclable ones) have to be thrown in the black general waste bin. I imagine the smell alone would force me to throw the whole thing in the black bin to get rid of it.The bin is very sturdy and looks great on the worktop, I have a feeling this will last a good while even with the content often causing condensation in the lid that can run down into the main body of the bin. I do make sure that I wipe the insides with a soapy water solution (washing up liquid) rather than disinfectant as it can make plastic brittle over time. The bin contains more than a weeks worth of veggie peelings for me I imagine it would contain enough for a week of about a 3/4 person family but if you put both peelings and leftovers / meat in there I would say it would need to be emptied at least every two to three days in summer.

Smaller size compost bin is big enough!
We've been without one for a while now, not sure why.So, getting the right size to sit on the kitchen counter was most important as we like minimalist and mostly unoccupied space if possible. It arrived the very next day with Prime, well packed.Item is full grey coloured plastic, sturdy body, detachable lid and a handle that swings both ways. It's breakable for sure, but which food bin caddy isn't?!We put green decomposing bags in as shown on photo to avoid constant wash of the caddy. That said, food will smell onto the plastic, so after every use, we clean it out with antibacterial wipes.Green bag will be loose and thus make it harder to make it not collapse into caddy when food remains added. So, to avoid this happening, we remove the lid, stretch the green bag around before putting the lid back in, and with that securing the bag in the lid clip.It is so easy to use, cleans out well, doesn't smell, seals perfectly, is also stable, sturdy, compact, and of course of a light weight. It's without a doubt a value for money, and I'd recommend a small family to buy this if they don't have a big amount of food waste on a daily basis.

Sleek and roomy
Bought this as an upgrade and I’m so glad I did. It is easy cleaned, has plenty of room and looks good on the counter. Just buy bigger bags if you use bags. Makes it easier to empty. I bought 10litre bags and they fit well and will be easy to tie and dispose of

Perfect Compost Bin for Everyday Use
I love the OXO Good Grips Composter! It's so easy to open, even when my hands are full, which is super convenient when cooking. Cleaning is a breeze thanks to the smooth interior, and I haven’t had any issues with lingering smells. It contains odors really well, even when left for a few days. The design is sleek and compact, fitting perfectly on my kitchen counter without being an eyesore. Overall, it’s a well-made, functional compost bin that makes kitchen composting effortless. Highly recommend!

Do you need a luxury food waste container?
At $50 this is one of the most expensive pieces of plastic you may ever buy. It weighs only 700g so at $71/kilo it can cost more than your favorite cut of wagyu. My teenage kids (who quite inadvisably have access to my Amazon account) thought their normally spendthrift dad was finally and truly insane. But, if it lasts, I think it may be worth it. What you're paying for is design and simplicity. You're probably looking at the other cheaper models here on Amazon but why choose this one? Well, first of all it looks smooth and elegant with a Tesla vibe that isn't too boxy. This design also extends to the interior of the unit and the hinge. It's an esthetic that becomes functional because there are very few surfaces or creases for slimy bits to collect in and fester. As for that hinge it is a single solid (for plastic) piece that is less likely to break than most other 2-point plastic hinges which, if you've read the reviews, appears to be the failing of many other bins. The hinge and lid slide in and out easily for cleaning and bag replacement. The lid has a simple flared front edge for lifting and closing without any springs, clips or buttons which means you can easily operate the lid with the back or side of your otherwise messy hands (pretty much all the time when cooking) without getting it dirty. Also, it has a clever bag management system that hides the top edge of the bag This looks much better than a bag hanging over the sides) and it holds the bag securely in place so it's doesn't slide down when you throw in that particularly heavy piece of watermelon rind. Finally, the colour. It's the only bin I have seen in charcoal grey which, if it fits into your decor, is the best at hiding dirt when compared to black or white. It's true that beige is not bad at hiding dirt but, beige? Really? Of course if your tastes run to the funky or bold colours then this unit is is also not for you, but my goal is to call the least amount of attention to the ickiest part of my kitchen. Yes, I considered hanging it out of sight inside a cabinet door but constantly opening/closing a cabinet door and a then a lid - I cook a lot - is a time waster and yet another surface to clean. So if you need a luxury kitchen waste bin, look no further.

Works nicely
I wasn’t sure if I really needed this, but it is fantastic. Holds the bag in place, no smell, no little flies hanging around, one hang open/close. Doesn’t take up much room. Looks fine on the counter and is easily cleaned. So much better than the government provided bins!
