Dislocated shoulder! Wonderful buy.
I recently dislocated my shoulder and needed something comfortable and supportive to help me heal. This arm sling was perfect! It’s lightweight but sturdy, easy to put on and adjust by myself, and it doesn’t dig into my neck like some others I’ve tried in the past. The breathable fabric made it comfortable to wear all day without overheating. It gave me the support I needed while still allowing some mobility. Definitely recommend for anyone dealing with a shoulder injury—worth every penny!

Comfortable and Versatile Support
I recently broke my wrist and found the Velpeau Arm Sling Shoulder Immobilizer to be incredibly helpful. It keeps my hand secure and in place, providing much-needed support for my injury. The sling is both comfortable and versatile, as it can be used on either the left or right arm, making it convenient for anyone who may need it.The instructions were a bit sketchy but still manageable. One feature I particularly appreciate is the color-coded straps: yellow for the left arm and green for the right. This makes it easy to adjust and ensure the sling is set up correctly. The sling arrives pre-set for the right arm, but it can be easily adjusted for the left.Inside the harness, there’s a strap designed to prevent the soft material from stretching, which is a thoughtful addition. I also like how my arm rests comfortably in the sling and how it doesn’t slide out of position. Overall, this sling provides reliable support and comfort during my recovery.

Five stars except...
This review is for the breathable version. Purchased for a broken clavicle and turns out to be far superior to the braces we got at the ER, then the ortho's office and then the pharmacy, once you figure out how to get it on, that is. I would be giving it five stars except for a few minor issues. First of all, the instructions say (and the videos show) that it can be put on without assistance, to which I respond a hearty HA! Don't think about putting this on without help if you have a shoulder injury more serious that just a mild strain! Secondly, the straps on the elbow end of the sling we received were in a very different location than the illustrations in the instructions, which left us briefly puzzled but not so much that we didn't eventually unpuzzle ourselves. And lastly, as is often the case, the Velcro is both a blessing and a misery. It certainly provides a secure fit but because of multiple anchor points, is a pesky hindrance when putting on the sling and just another reason why putting this on solo is best not attempted. But overall, good design and great support. It's been worn now for about two weeks and the shoulder strap does seem to have stretched very slightly--still many weeks to go before full recovery so I will update when we are done using it. Overall, I would definitely recommend this sling. Edit: Performed well as long as was needed. Hopefully, it can now be permanently retired!

a REALLY GOOD SLING FOR A GREAT PRICE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ONE.
This sling is a great product, and the price is very reasonable. I BROKE MY SHOULDER AND HAD TO HAVE SURGERY. i have 3 other slings, one was over S100.00 that I got from the ortho dr. This sling is so much better, and it doesn't cut into your neck. I like that it comes up higher above my elbow for good support. The best sling for your money. others that are comparable can sell for over $150. 00! being I will be wearing this for a few more months, I'm happy I CHOOSE TO GO WITH THIS ONE..

Comfortable and soft
I got this item because I had surgery on my wrist and I needed it to stop moving around when I was going to class in college. I worked for what I needed it for. It's feels more like in the medium weight territory for arm braces. I did sweat in this brace and it was winter time. Setup was a chore when doing it solo but once you get it right you don't need to do it again. Also it's durable and looks machine washable. I haven't washed it so I can't comment on it. I would probably place it in a mesh bag though to be on the safe side and not to tangle with other items in the wash.Pro(s): Works well when set up correctly. Soft. Comfortable. Sturdy yet flexible. Can be used for either side. Adjustable.Con(s): Semi-breathable. Setup is confusing when it's for the left side.

excellent sling for improved support, comfort, and minimizing pain.
Wife is 76 year old, fell and broke humerus bone. Because the bones were not displaced, local hospital ER sent her home with a pain relief shot and a cheap sling. Orthopedic surgeon decided to proceed with a non-surgical approach and to keep the arm supported in the sling. We purchased the new sling on Amazon, quick delivery, and it has made a significant difference in support, comfort, and minimizing pain. Excellent instructions, quality hook&loop fasteners, highly recommend this product.

Best comfort and stability
I got the sling because I had ordered a previous sling that did not have the strap that came around the back to my arm. I feel things had jolted me and caused pain when my arm shot out on the old sling. This one is better padded than the other, making it much more comfortable. It also is adjustable for smaller frames. See the photo for example. There is also the straps inside to put your hand in for stability as well as the thumb sling. It is also reversible. Orange is for the left side, green is for the right side. I’m very happy to have found this sling as I did not see any others like it.

Beware the size chart
Because my chest measurement is 34 inches just half an inch above the medium to large demarcation, I got a size large. Although it is too big for me, it feels much more secure than what I was sent home from the hospital in. The hospital’s was a size medium, different brand, reasonably good quality, but it really feels too small. At any rate, I can see why the Velpeau is frequently returned. The large size nearly swallows me, and it wasn’t super easy to figure out changing it from right to left. I had to watch the video and read the instructions several times to get it right. All that said it feels so much more secure than the medium size I wore home from the hospital.
