Kelty Shadehouse Accessory Wall Tent

Ordered this for my Kelty which was purchased specifically for trip to beach.First day I used it the stitching which holds the elastic toggles to the sheet began to tear. Granted this was on the beach, so wind was low to moderate but steady. I had to reposition the angle of the tent so it would not billow like a sail (which is annoying). Once this was done it flapped occasionally but mostly just stayed filled by the pleasant breeze. When it picked up in the afternoon the sun was above us so it was taken down anyway. By afternoon it was repositioned to the other side and within an hour one of the toggles snapped and the side wall had to be taken down due to incessant flapping.Unfortunately the situations where you would need a tent and thereby a side wall are pretty much always out in the open; and this product was not able to withstand even moderate breezes for 1 day.If ZERO stars had been an option, it would have been my selection.My advice, and our ultimate solution.Buy more than one tent.

Not really much to say, I am very impressed with the Kelty Shadehouse and the accessory wall is a must have option in my opinion. If you are using the shadehouse for shade only and not concerned with rain you could get away without the side wall but one would be a nice add on. If you are concerned with rain you will need two for sure.The description for the shadehouse does not specify how many walls are required but you can only attach two.

Just make sure you have heavy-duty stakes (especially if on sand) and guy everything out. We use this in the desert where it provides shade and a break from the wind. That wind will drive you crazy though if everything is slack and flapping.

Not the proper shape for my shelter, Kelty has made several design changes so I have gaps along the edges. Otherwise it works as expected and same quality as the shelter.

This product appears very well built. Used it camping at the beach and it withstood some very strong winds. Easy to set up with two people but can be done with one. Much lighter and transportable then any folding accordion style canopy. The large provides plenty of room for cooking and eating but the ceiling is not very high and a little loose which flaps in the wind (hence the 4 stars). Overall a great go anywhere canopy that's packs small enough that takes out the decision of whether or not to take it.

There is a small space where air can get between the walls, but no sunlight gets through. It fit great.

First time I took it out it rained for 2 days with high winds. It performed beyond my expectations. Make sure you use the tent pin at all points and it will do great.
