Over a few months it worked okay for the handful of times it was used
Edit: After contacting the manufacturer/seller they issued a full refund, maybe I got a poor example. It worked okay for the handful of times I used it over the 7 months I had it.A combination of fragile rubber and a screw in ring with a sharp edge don't go well together or provide a long lasting product. My other quibble with it Is the the rubber, unless stored in absolute isolation in your camera bag it will deform and not make a perfect circle when extended. Some parts will inevitably bite into the field of view from the deformation. Especially noticeable when used on a spotting scope.I'll be buying a full metal one as a replacement .

Good Quality... BUT vignettes on a DX 18-55mm lens
Very good quality and great price but cannot be used on a Nikkor DX 18-55mm (APS-C) lens as it vignettes at wide angle. Would be a great product otherwise.

Good but not Fited
This lens hood is good but does not fit on my sigma 50mm lens. So that why it's not my use.

Exactly what I need
I ordered both a 52mm and 58mm threaded lens hoods for my Nikon camera. Tried the 52mm first and although the description said they were reversible I really struggled. Undaunted, I shrugged and thought, “I can live with that.”I later got out the larger lens hood and immediately I realised what I’d been doing wrong. The centre part revolves and by flipping it over and reinserting it to lock by a small twist. Obvious once you’ve done it and I bet people are laughing because I took so long to figure it out. The two covers are ideal. Thank you.

Its an ok option for an adjustable Lens Hood
First off, its rubber, so don't expect it to keep its form. I received it in the package and it was already malformed. When its on the camera it looks quite wonky, as its not perfectly round, so I personally will not be using it unless I really need to. I purchased other functional and nice looking non-extendable lens hoods for my lenses. It does the job when in a pinch, as long as I am not shooting super wide.

Not suitable for some wide angle lenses
I purchased this to use with a 17-70 mm zoom lens fitted to an APS-C DLR body, as a replacement for a similar one that had fallen apart after 15 years (the rubber eventually tears at the folds). The old hood was fine when the lens was at 17 mm, but this hood causes very obvious vignetting (darkness of the image) at the corners when the lens is at 17 mm. Close examination of the hood shows that the metal ring is quite deep, and its inner surface is straight, which causes the problem. There is no problem at 19 mm, so I suspect the hood is made for the standard 18-55 mm 'kit lens' sold with many APS-C DSLRs, or an 18-135.
