Really Great Printer!
I purchased the Epson ET-5880 for our small office to fulfill our need for a good color printer. I read a number of a reviews about the printer before making the purchase. Most were positive, so I went ahead and ordered the printer. I'm very pleased with this printer. I had no problem connecting it to our network. Installing the drivers on four computers was easy as well. I should note that the printer comes with a CD for installation, but I chose to use the NEWER drivers that were on Epson's website instead. You should do that as well.Filling the ink tanks on the printer was very simple. Not so much as a drop of ink was spilled. The ink bottles are keyed so that one cannot put the wrong color ink in a tank no intended for that color. Once filled, the unit goes through a charging process (Epson's term) to get ink to the print heads. Yes, it uses a little ink, but Epson also supplied a second set of ink bottles so that the ink tanks are full after the charging process. The printing is very fast, yielding high quality print. I suggest using 22 or 24 pound paper, especially if printing on both sides of the paper.I was particularly interested in seeing how this printer would handle scanning. I do a lot of two-sided scanning. The scanning software, SCAN 2 and SCANSMART, both worked well. SCAN 2 gives the user lots of options, but might be overwhelming to a newer user. The SCANSMART software is more visual and gives the user enough features to adjust and/or crop images as needed. The software does provide the option of creating a searchable PDF file, which is something I like as I deal in contract documents. Of course, one can print from a cell phone or tablet if desired. There's even a remote print feature where one can print via email from anywhere where there's an Internet connection.Overall, I'm pleased with this printer. It's not inexpensive, but it will easily meet the needs of a small office.

Great printer
For a small printer, scanner and office/home printer, it's very nice. I especially like the larger capacity ink cartridges, more ink and less materials used. Photos are crisp and sharp with excellent color gamut, speed is good. You have every print option available to you, to best meet the needs and quality of any job at handing question. Scanning is fast and accurate, as is printing, if you use it as a copier. Ink consumption is surprisingly thrifty, and cleaning operations are sparing of the ink that is used. Epson issues updakes on a regular basis. I bought this printer as a gift specifically because I have owned one myself, for about two years. In that time, I have experienced zero performance or maintainance issue with the device.I am entirely satisfied with this printer, and am also happy that it is so reliable that I am afforded the luxury of being able to forget about when I not actually using it.Disclosure: I have no relationship of any kind with Epson or any other vendors, and I have neither. received nor solicited renumeration or other considerations, of any nature, for my endorsement of this product.

Buyer Beware as the Free Ink is not worth the price or headaches this printer creates.
Bought the printer a few months ago and was positive after reading reviews it should be a winner even though it costs $849.99 which is a lot of money for a printer with no real track record. I set the unit up and use it for printing black and a few hundred 4"x4" black and white images with basic text. We tried the printer and the first prints soaked the paper with ink and distorted the paper and took a long time to dry and we reduce the image quality and ink and got the same result.By the time we got it dry the quality was gone and the brother printer we had before this would print high quality and was dry and it only cost $349.99. We decided to give it a try as the reviews all said this should yield 6000 to 8000 pages. Once the month was over and the ink was almost out the unit was at 1800+ pages and th black tank was close to empty. This was very upsetting as now you have to turn in ink bottle info and rebates after the purchase of ink to get the free ink program they offer for 2yrs from the time of purchase.I highly recommend looking at another printer as this thing also suffers from rear paper jams that do not exist and it seems when you print from and back it trips some sensor and has to be restarted and is now a useless printer we are going to have to replace after only a few months. $%@@ this is absolutely unacceptable and deceptive marketing to get 2yrs free ink to get ripped off by purchasing this POS for $849.99 and have to buy ink with less than 2000 prints and not feel like you were tricked by deceptive marketing!I'm not a competitor or a fake review and I just wanted to share this as one of the worst printer experiences I have ever made and I take my time and have always been selective so we can be on top of over output and cost per sheet. HI really hopes this helps everyone steer clear of the new Epson eco-tanks and they look elsewhere before getting sucked in by empty promises.Worst Printer Purchase Ever was with Epson EcoCRAP they can keep the 2yrs with of ink with all the poor performance and jamming issues. This STINKS!
