Yngwie technique explained so it’s possible to learn
Chris breaks down the exact picking strokes and shows how it is possible to play Yngwie’s style of Neo Classical guitar. Using these techniques you will be able to build up the skills required to execute these licks. Due to the speed of string changes only this technique can be used due to changing strings after an upstroke. Chris explains it better in the book but it does work and feels much smoother than when I tried to learn previously. Highly recommend for any Malmsteen fan!

Yng-way! Yes way!
Yngwie’s style differs from other shredders it that his lines seem more idiosyncratic & less metronomic than later virtuosos. Sure, you can easily say “it’s all harmonic minor scales at breakneck speed”, but this belies a brilliant musician who has a unique way of approaching the mechanics of the instrumentIn this book i discovered that my own picking style was something more akin to Yngwie’s, from the way I angled the pick, to the way certain fretboard shapes and lines fell under my fingers and others didn’t.I especially liked the very large and detailed illustrations of the correct pick, hand, arm positions to replicate Yngwie’s picking technique.Never once did I find myself turning a page to get to a less challenging line, or re-reading it to understand an explanation.I really enjoyed how Chris takes the bare bones of a line-a six note pattern, for example-and demonstrates how Yngwie incorporates his mechanics to get dozens of variations to the phrase.Best of all, I’m naturally constructing lines that fit the system, and people have commented on how more fluid and faster I soundI’m not (much) faster, but one absolute advantage that the Yng-way (see what Chris did there?) is that the combination of picking, sweeping and legato affords you great dynamic and rhythmic control than traditional approaches to high speedsChris is an entertaining and extremely knowledgeable instructor, and regularly interacts with students on Facebook and Instagram.I highly recommend this product and am looking forward to reading his work on sweep picking (another trademark of Yngwie!)

This is undoubtedly THE best book on playing neoclassical guitar!
I'll echo what's been said here and elsewhere. This book is undoubtedly THE best book for guitarists wishing to radically improve their neoclassical guitar playing. Superb breakdown of Malmsteen's style and the intricacies of his technique. Just be sure not to stay too close to the examples shown once you've mastered them, unless sounding like yet another Malmsteen clone is your goal. Why not wear the same clothes as him too?!Anyway, before you know it you'll find yourself being able to tackle parts of tracks like Far Beyond the Sun with far greater accuracy and speed than you thought possible. You'll still need to work damned hard on a track like that but it feels far more doable once you know how it's done by Malmsteen. Strict alternate picking is certainly a non-starter! Soon you will be able to improvise your own neoclassical licks and add some of your own creativity to the mix.You can also easily apply the skills acquired here to supercharge other styles of playing such as rock, jazz, fusion, country etc.Highly recommended!

Great book, exactly what I was looking for.
What I loved about this book is that it combines an excellent detailed lesson on picking mechanics with examples of Yngwie’s playing that I could actually play at my own speed as a first step. For anyone who wants to play like Yngwie and don’t know where to start, this is the book to get.

Neoclassical Speed Strategies
Vale a pena.
