Richly Pigmented Watercolors
This review applies not only to this color, but to Qor watercolor paints in general. I am very happy with the pigmentation and the way the paints handle. I do recommend buying the individual tubes rather than the sets with smaller tubes for the following reasons. First, the smaller tubes gushed paint as I opened them, so that I had to spend time cleaning the caps and threading to keep the tubes usable after closing. Second, the sets include colors that are not LF1, and lightfastness matters in watercolors. The thinner the wash, the less lightfast any pigment will become.

PY 83 IS NOT READILY AVAILABLE AS A SINGLE PIGMENT
I actually don’t really like this paint too much since I mostly use Daniel Smith and Windsor Newton and the additive in this paint does not mix as well. Unfortunately, I have been unable to find that single pigment in another brand. I gave it 5 stars just for being on the market. If I wasn’t such a label reader I wouldn’t have found it. It is replacing my Holbein Iridori Antique yellow. There are a few good convenience mixes which have it in the formula such as Sennelier Yellow Deep (py83, py 153). You will find the pigment numbers on the side of the tubes somewhere. Hope you have good eyes or glasses. I prefer single pigment for cleaner mixes.
