Saves on food costs
My food waste has dropped dramatically since I started using the zip top vacuum bags. Freezer burn is a thing of the past. I am able to divide my frozen items in to serving sizes and keep them longer once the excess air is removed.

Not for long term storage, fine for sous vide
Up to now I've been using zip-loc freezer bags for sous vide so I though these might be good for freezer storage. I bought batch of bought-frozen crabs to make gumbo, only needed to use half. The other half went into one of the larger bags that came with this, air got sucked out and into the freezer it went.I was thinking it was pretty slick until I noticed a day later that the bag in the freezer had refilled with air. Now, there is nothing on the package saying that these might be good vacuum freezer bags, but if you were wondering, then no they're not. There's a bit of a learning curve to getting the pump to actually pull air out of the bags, but it does work - and the pump comes apart easily for cleaning.I haven't had a chance to test the 'reusable' claim, but the ones I used to sous vide swordfich steaks worked fine.

Reusable airtight plastic bags
Easy to use, keeps food fresher much longer. I don't have the counter space for a vacuum sealer machine so this works great. Plus, I can reuse the full bags.

This is a GREAT kit!!
I was initially skeptical, but upon using the vacuum bag and pump, I have found this to be a great kit!! I am very pleased with the purchase and will be ordering more bags. I have used the vacuum bags and pump over the past month for sous vide cooking, avocados in the refrigerator, and meat in the freezer, all with great success. As a 60+ year old female, I have found the hand pump easy to use and my strong, nearly 30 year old son has had no problem operating the small plastic pump either. Highly recommend watching the product video included on the Amazon site. Waiting for approximately 5 seconds after the first, initial pump is IMPORTANT as it seems to release/activate the valve in the bag. You can actually hear it pop or snap open. Just remember to press it closed again AFTER pumping as shown on the video. So nice to have a small manual pump to vacuum seal the bags instead of an expensive and bulky piece of single use, electric equipment. Thank you for a great and useful product.

They Leak. That makes them a complete failure!
I rate these a complete failure.I love cooking Sous Vide style and have always used a vacuum sealer with single use bags. I bought these hoping that they would be reusable, but they were a huge disappointment. These bags are not soft like baggies or typical food seal plastic bads, rather, they are a bit on the stiff side. The first use showed that they let a little water in the bag while cooking. The amount of water that entered the bag was enough to alter the flavor.Afterwards they were thoroughly cleaned and with the second use there were two problems:1. Even though the double seal had been cleaned they were letting air in during the evacuation process. I stopped, removed the food, re-cleaned the bags and tried again. They still leaked. Next, I removed the food and re-cleaned then ran scalding hot water over the sealing edges to try to soften them. That finally allowed a good seal.2. When cooking was complete, and I removed the bags each bag had an extra two to three ounces of water inside.I wanted my steak cooked in it own juices, not poached in a bag of water.

They work, but not well enough to get me excited about using them again
I didn't like these very much. They were a sponsored search result when I was looking for silicone sous-vide bags, and no, they're not silicone. They're hard to clean, and the evacuation pump is not easy to use. If you don't mind single-use plastic, just water-seal some regular Ziploc freezer bags when you sous vide. If you want a really snug vacuum seal, get a vac-sealer.

Pump takes a little practice
Once you get the feel of using the suction pump that comes with it, how well it vacuums is actually impressive. I've not actually used them for Sous Vide yet. So I can't speak to how good they are for that. I have used and reused them as freezer bags several times now. And for that purpose they work wonderfully.

excellent bags for Sous Vide.
excellent bags, heavy duty. The hand pump works, but is a t'ch finicky. will replace with a battery-powered pump.
