The Chicken Squad: The First Misadventure (1) Paperback – September 29, 2015

This is a wonderful chapter book, and it is a gold mine for educators. Its a humorous story that cleverly educates at the same time. You will find inside: comparing sizes, increases vocabulary, talks about shapes, inspires the imagination, and much more...! My son laughed out loud reading this book. It is full of humor, ideas, and left my son wanting more to read. 5 stars!!!! I hope to see more books from Doreen Cronin. We can't wait to see what other misadventures The Chicken Squad can get themselves into.

I love this book series! I teach second grade. These books are great for read alouds. I use the first book in the series as a him lesson for introducing using adjectives in writing to make your more exciting. The Kids love every one of these books. They are easy reads with short engaging chapters. A great addition to your classroom library!!

My daughter is in second grade and she's supposed to read 15 minutes a day. Part of her bedtime routine is that she read to me. I found this chapter book (love that it's a series!), the pages and chapters are short, with large font, and some pictures. . The story line is silly and engaging, There is the perfect amount of 'challenge' words that she needs to work through, but not too many that she gets frustrated. We will definitely get the next Chicken Squad book!!

Cute, funny, and has a lot on adorable pictures! The only problem is it’s pretty short. I’d say you could finish it in a day.

My daughter love it. She is a good reader.

This is a spin-off of the J. J. Tully series. The chicks now have their own series. The chicks get their first client, a squirrel. I loved how Sugar sees the clues differently than the others. J. J. has to come to the rescue but the chicks are fun as they solve their first mystery despite the clues. Don't let the facts stand in the way. This is a wonderful series for beginning readers.

Got this book for my 5 and 3 year olds because they are in love with the Disney show. The book is different, especially since the characters are not as sweet as on the show, but the kids think it’s hilarious.Most 5 and 3 year olds might not sit through it, but my kids love books.

Fun series for kids who like chickens.

Fast arrival, nice book

This was a really fun book that was recommended to me by a friend who is a teacher. My child and I took turns reading pages and it was just hard enough that it wasn't super easy but easy enough that she did not get frustrated. The characters are really fun and the bit if a mystery element to it had us wanting to keep turning pages right to the end. Highly recommended for 6-8 year olds as a first chapter book.

Meine Frau und mein Sohn (4,5) genießen das Büchlein .. ist sehr lustig und hat auch einen Lerncharakter bzgl Wortschatz. Kann aus unserer Sicht klar als Vorlesebuch empfohlen werden ..

Three young grandsons enjoyed this. Loved the humour eg the identical descriptions of the chicks really amused them.

My 7 year old and 5 year old really love this book. I must look out for more in the series.
