Martha Stewart Crafts 12-Inch Simple Paper Trimmer

I use this all the time for work (I'm a youth librarian) and it's made my projects so much simpler. I can't cut a straight line for the life of me, and this paper cutter makes it so easy to cut precisely measured lines. It also has a "blade" for folding, which I've used some. The base expands if you're working with larger paper, and since it's 12 inches long it even works for large sheets of paper.My only complaint might be that the little container for the blades is on the bottom. It would be better as a pull out drawer I think. Other than that, switching the blades is really easy, and the blade never moves as I'm cutting down.

I've had this trimmer for about two weeks now and used it quite a bit. No problems so far, and when I cut thinner paper with punched edges I start from the middle on out to avoid ripping the delicate edges. The knife is still sharp and cuts easy, and the trimmer feels solid for the size. Pleased with it, hopefully it'll be easy to purchase replacement blades.Update, 4-28-11:I've had to severely downgrade my rating based on the terrible replacement blades: they shred the paper rather than cutting it, the posts don't fit into the opening without force, and last night the blade protector slipped off while I was trying to get the ill fitting replacement blade out again and deeply cut the side of my index finger. None of the thus far six replacement blades have worked smoothly as did the original one. I bought the replacement blades at Michaels, and the package says "for the paper trimmer".Since I'll be looking for a new trimmer I have to say this one is a waste of money based on its short life.

Works better than the more expensive Fiskars 12" trimmer that I bought and then returned. This one cuts without tearing or bending the paper. Only thing that would make it better is some sort of wire or line to show you where the cut is going to be.

REALLY like mine. Go easy on the cutting bar as it breaks. A flaw in martha Stewart design. She needed to offer a replacement for the plastic part, not just the razor blade. Tisk tisk Martha. This is my 4th martha board.

Bought it because it's the one Bob from I Like To Make Stuff uses, and really like the way it works. Cuts well through several sheets of paper at once. Very accurate, and sharp - but the blade is well protected so it's very difficult to cut yourself. Wonderful for repeatable cuts at identical sizes.

Yes, I was really looking forward to getting this paper trimmer, as it had an "arm" that would help you cut paper multiple times at the same cutting line. But when I went to cut it, all my cuts were Crooked!! I thought it was me; I thought it was the paper. But no - - it was the cutter. I didn't use it right away, so it was too late to send it back. Ugh. What can you do with a crooked paper trimmer?

Basically: this is an amateur paper trimmerHaving said that, is quite good for its price, and you should buy it if you're starting to work with paper.It would be great if they added to the package an extra cutting blade (or a couple of them!), because they unsharp really fast

This is probably the 5th trimmer I have bought and even though, like the others, it doesn't cut 'true' it is the best one I have bought and have reached the conclusion that no paper trimmer will cut an absolute straight line, though the cut itself is beautifully clean with no feathering whatsoever. On the negative I cannot get the scoring tool to work, the line it scores is no use for anything but for me this isn't a problem as I keep my old one just for scoring. I have tried to contact the makers regarding this but sadly though they acknowledged my email they haven't bothered to reply and this is why I have given it only 4*. I also find I keep lifting the bar up via the blade housing and this causes the blade housing to come out but this is user error and not the tools fault, more of a warning to new users really.

La compré porque me la recomendaron y la verdad es que no me ha decepcionado. Yo la uso para pequeños trabajos de scrapbooking y encuadernación y cumple perfectamente con su cometido. El corte es rápido y preciso (además viene con una pequeña lupa incorporada junto a la cuchilla para que pueda calcularse el corte al milímetro). Aunque la cuchilla es muy afilada en ningún momento hay peligro de accidentes ya que ni siquiera para cambiarla hay que manipularla directamente con los dedos, gracias a una especie de capuchón que sirve no sólo para guardarla cuando no se usa sino también para quitarla y ponerla de la cizalla.La novedad respecto a otras cizallas es una regla lateral ajustable que permite no sólo trabajar con papeles de mayor tamaño, pues alarga considerablemente la superficie de corte, sino que también es otra forma de medir la distancia del extremo del papel hasta la cuchilla, posibilitando además hacer muchos cortes iguales de forma muy rápida.Tanto el manejo como el cambio de cuchillas es bastante fácil y viene explicado brevemente con fotos y texto (en inglés) en la parte trasera del embalaje. En Youtube también hay varios tutoriales que explican como usarla.Las medidas vienen en pulgadas y centímetros. Incluye un cabezal de corte -con una cuchilla triangular bastante afilada- y otro cabezal para hacer marcas y plegar -la cuchilla es roma y semicircular, no corta-. Todo esto puede guardarse en un compartimento trasero mientras no se use.

Dieser Papierschneider ist echt gut. Die Maßeinheit auf dem Schneider ist nicht aufgedruckt, sondern eingestanzt. Damit kann die Skala nicht abgegriffen oder abgescheuert werden. Das Messer ist super scharf und die Maßeinheiten sind in Inch und cm angegeben. Das Papier kann man gut einklemmen und somit hat man kein verrutschen, wie bei vilen Hebelschneidern. Ich bin super zufrieden.Lediglich das Messer wechseln, sollte dies mal nicht mehr scharf sein, ist etwas fummelig, aber durchaus machbar. Das Messer sitzt sehr fest in der Halterung, aber das ist gut so, denn sonst könnte man damit nicht so gut schneiden.Leider ist keine Erklärung auf Deutsch dabei, sondern nur auf Englisch. Man sollte also schon ein wenig Englisch können, um die Anleitung zu verstehen. Für mich kein Problem, aber wer gar kein Englisch kann, kann damit Probleme bekommen.Ansonsten kann ich nur noch viel Spaß mit dem Papierschneider wünschen.

Saw this advertised on craft channel, and then shopped around for best price. Took a while to arrive from USA (but not as long as it could have!) - and yes, I am very pleased. the pull out paper guide is really useful - and quite accurate. Only giving it 4 stars because it would have been so much better to get a spare cutting blade with it.

This is by far the best paper trimmer i have used the blades are readily available and so easy to replace.A few days ago i dropped it and broke the plastic strip that the blade sits in, I contacted the company who were absolutely amazing they went out of their way to send me another one for a very minimum charge. The lady i spoke to was so helpful I cannot praise this company enough!!!Its so nice to find great customer service. Thank you Pinetrees any future purchases will be with you.
