This works much better than my previous 4 wheel cutter.1 month updateAlthough initially pleased with the foil cutter, after opening a few bottles of wine the pins holding the one blade in the housing started falling out and then the one blade bent. With the bent blade, it is difficult if not impossible to cut the foil from wine bottles effectively.A friend's cutter with true screws rather than than the drive (U-Type) screws used on this cutter has lasted much longer and continues to cut well.Based on the our usage (1 month) after the initial receipt of the foil cutter, I've had to revise the rating down to 2 stars.

The only disappointment is that the old one came in a little ...
I ordered this cutter to replace a similar one that broke after about 15 years of use. This one is the same style and I expect will last as long. The only disappointment is that the old one came in a little plastic case, perfectly sized and kept it from getting lost or damaged in the cutlery drawer. This one in a tiny flimsy plastic bag. Ugh. Wouldn't have cost the manufacturer more than 5 cents to package it properly.

Opens the Wine
I ordered this to replace a wonderful, never-fail one (from a different company) that had bit the dust. After years.So the bar is high for this gadget.It works great. Cuts like a charm. I haven't had it forever, but when I compared the construction of this to my former one....I have to say, the plastic was EXACTLY the same, shape and all. Blades as well.So long as it opens the vino, all is well.

Flimsy
This item works ok when you get it in the exact perfect position. If you squeeze it slightly too hard, the arms jump off the bottle because they are flimsy. I've used sturdier foil cutter which worked much better. Would not buy this item again, although at least the price is not high.

Excellent wine foil cutter.
I've only used it once so far, but it worked very well. It fits snugly on the bottle top, and I like the sturdy blades which cut the foil quickly and cleanly.
