Shocked that it works, but it does
Nobody is more surprised than I this product works exactly as advertised, and pleasantly at that. It has all the grip of a cat running riot up your drapes. In fact, you may want to keep a small pry bar handy the first time you use it. I was convinced I wasn't going to get my iPhone back; yes, the bond is that strong. Too bad they didn't put the pad at the other end too, as the suction cup is not up to snuff when the clime turns frosty.Ok, I'll admit it. I reversed it just to see if the green, sticky pad would adhere to the windshield in winter. Sue me! By the way, the answer is : yes.The bottom line here: you could definitely do worse. It's a reasonably priced product that holds a cell phone in place like an iron vise. What more could you want?

Turned into Garbage
I have owned two of these previously and they have been fantastic. The first one lasted for years and the second would have lasted had I not broken it. My wife ordered me a new one last month. I was excited to get it after having positive experiences with my previous GripGo purchases. When I opened it, I noticed that there were some slight differences. The suction cup seemed to be a less flexible rubber and the green sticky stuff pulled off of the actual holder when I remove the protective covering. The suction cup on the mount refused to stick to the window in any temp below 50 degrees. I tried warming it, wetting it, cleaning the window, but without fail, it would fall off within 10 minutes, even untouched and without a phone. Previous versions of the GripGo would remain attached to my windshield through subfreezing temps all winter. I took a trip to a warmer climate and once the temps reached 60+ degrees, the suction cup worked, so I attached my phone. Apparently the warmer climate caused the green sticky stuff to not hold onto the phone, because my phone would detach every 10-15 minutes of driving. Having owned this equipment before, I washed the sticky backing in warm water to make sure it was clean, still nothing. After sheer frustration of trying to make this think work, I knocked it off the windshield, went to Amazon and purchased something different. This used to be a great phone holder. I liked it. But it is a piece of garbage now. Something in the manufacturing has changed and it's not worth the $6.95 they are charging. You would be better off purchasing a couple of rubber bands and strapping your phone to the steering wheel. It might be ugly, but at least it would stay in one place.

Leaves a Lot to be Desired.
This not a reflection of the vendor who sold me this product.I find this product to be iffy at best. It does not live up to its hype on the info commercials.First the round sticky disc that you can put on any surface to attach the suction cup do does not work at all. I tried it on three different surfaces (all of them flat) and it refused to stick to any of them. Yes they were cleaned before I attached it.Second the suction cup that is suppose to attach to the windshield works partially. It held my smart phone/GPS for two trips. But after that it takes a notion to detach itself from the windshild - banging the phone on the console. It also almost always comes off when you take the phone off the sticky pad - even if you take the phone off at an angte like you are suppose to do.Third, I had to buy three of them to get one that came through that was not broken or damaged in some way.

I want to love it
This is the 2nd one of these I've bought and both have the same pro and con. Pro: The sticky pad for the phone is AWESOME. Better than any other phone holder I've ever had. Con: The suction cup to the windshield sucks because it doesn't suc(tion). It constantly falls off the windshield. The first one the lever broke on the suction mechanism I guess because of the heat. This one never did well at all. I want to love it... But I had to move on.

Works incredibly well
My fiance and I both bought one of these are were amazed at how well it works. Since then several friends/family members have bought them also because they work SO WELL. My iphone 4 easily stays mounted with no issues- with or without the case (I have a plastic case with a flat back which I'm sure helps). If anything, it took extreme strength just to get the phone off of the mount the first few times I used it. It loosens up over time, but stays secure. I LOVE the swivel system- it's so easy to point the phone wherever I need it to go. It mounts securely to my dashboard (I used the plastic disk they include) and my fiance's is suctioned to his windshield. He has an iphone 5 and doesn't use a case. They never fall off for either of us. I also find this to be a lot less cumbersome to get it on and off the mount compared to many of the competitors with arms... those always seemed to fall off the windshield when I was trying to get the phone in there, and they almost always took two hands to mount the phone. Not something I wanted to do while driving. I was really surprised at all the negative reviews- I love this thing! I think my only suggestion for improvement would be to have more choices than the green mount. I get that it's the iconic color for the brand, but I'd rather have a black one or clear so that it wasn't so garish looking in my car.

Best Product for Cell Phones
This is an excellent product, unfortunately most people don't have the patience to set it up correctly. It can't be used to support the weight of large cell phones directly. I mount it low on the dash with a sticky dash mat. I put the weight of the phone on the sticky dash mat and the Gripgo is the back rest. My Galaxy Note 2 has been used this way for nearly 2 years without problems. Occasionally the Gripgo has to be restuck to the windshield. The only downside is the Gripgo sticky pad eventually starts to break down and gets gooey in the summer sun (Could be from oils from hands, has to be kept clean). Don't clean with anything except soap and water. Windex ruins the sticky and turns it to goo. Great price, getting ready to buy more.

Love this item so much i have bought 3 over ...
Love this item so much i have bought 3 over the years now. They last and last and last. The only reason for changing them is when you have washed the surface so many times it is coming away from the unit. The arm length and manoverability mean that i can set my Phone up in any car no matter the angle of windscreen or design of the dash. Highly recommend this item.

Sub standard product
Either the brand has lost its quality, or it's a fake. The suction pad came off with the phone rather than staying in the mount.A grip go that I bought two years ago is still going strong.Do not buy..

Nul
