Better than bamboo
The product was easy to use and clean up. I read good reviews and glad I bought it! I threw away my old bamboo mat!

Great, but not for rolling sushi!
I bought two of these mats to roll sushi so I could clean them easier than a bamboo mat wrapped in cling wrap. They failed miserably. They lack the stiffness of the bamboo rods so when you roll, it does not compress the sushi like bamboo does.Silver lining! I've found they are very usefull for laying down the nori on a dry surface to spread the rice, then flipping it over onto a moist bamboo mat to roll. The rubber mat sticks to the counter allowing me to spread rice on nori very quickly. I keep my bamboo rolling mat (covered in seal-a-meal bag) moist so the rice doesn't stick to it. I keep the rubber mat dry so the nori doesn't shrink. Works awsome. Going to order 3 more so my students can use them too.

Silicone Sushi Mat-A must have for the Sushi addict!
This gadget is wonderful! I have a traditional bamboo mat (always nice to have an extra mat if I need a helper to roll a lot of sushi) but this silicone mat is a dream and very hygienic, easy to clean up and dry if some ingredients spill out whilst rolling sushi. When I used to roll sushi with my bamboo mat and needed to clean it 'mid-sushi' rolling I could never get the bamboo dry enough and it would inevitably make my Nori (seaweed) soggy. Also, this silicone product makes rolling sushi very smooth (like buttah) and shaping is easy too!

there's only one mat, not two
it's only one mat. why is there a ", 2"? I would have chosen a different item if it had been labeled correctly.

Absolutely LOVE this mat!
I just recently got this mat and I absolutely love it! It makes sushi rolling so quick and easy and cleaning and drying is an absolute breeze, unlike the traditional bamboo mats. I can't speak for the longterm durability of the mat, but it seems pretty tough. My best friend had actually suggested this mat to me and I could not be happier I took her advice. I highly recommend this mat to anyone who wants to roll their own sushi at home.

Not great for rice on the outside, but really easy to clean and use.
My husband and I just started making sushi rolls at home and we are trying new products out. I was REALLY hoping that this would replace the need for using cling wrap and throwing it out....I hate to waste and I ESPECIALLY hate throwing out single use plastics. I like to roll my rice on the outside of the nori, my husband does it the opposite. Here are my pros and cons for rice on the outside:PROS:-- Easy to clean-- Is firm enough to round-shape a roll well-- Slightly larger than a full size sheet of noriCONS:-- Rice and avocado stick between the ribs....not bad, but just enough to not be a sub for cling wrap-- Is not quite as "stick-straight" as bamboo, so you need to apply even pressure to roll evenly.Overall, it is not a bad mat, and it will be of use regardless. If for no other purpose than as a trivet for hot pots.

and they cooked up a stink that was disgusting. These silicone ones roll very well
I tried the bamboo ones, and they cooked up a stink that was disgusting. These silicone ones roll very well, and wash well under water/hot water. I swear will never use bamboo roller again, they made me peuk cuz they have a awful smell that does not go well with food. I personally want to save anyone from that disgust, and gosh darn try this one, cuz its easy to wash, and doesnt make yu peuk!

Non-sticky as advertised, but not rigid enough
The best thing about this is the rice doesn't stick to the mat like the regular makisu mat. Cleaning it is super easy as well. The worst part is the thing is not rigid enough, which means, when you try to roll the sushi, it'll bend all over the place. If you use the regular one made from bamboo, that won't happen. I'm going to try to use this in combination with the regular one next time I make sushi. That way, I won't have to deal with the rice sticking everywhere but still have that rigidness that I need to roll the sushi.
