Where has this hidden gem been hiding?
I recently purchased Stagg's Silveray model and was very impressed with the quality at the pricepoint. So when I started looking for a budget Les paul for an upgrade platform, I figured Lets give Stagg a shot for $199.First, the expected:-The frets do need to be polished and there were a few sharp edges.-The tuners are just good enough, but definitely should get upgraded.-It does not come set up out of the box.Now the unexpected:-The finish is immaculate, just like the picture.- The body appears to be a single slab of mahogany, no seams and beautiful grain. Good luck getting that from the big name brands!-The neck joint is amazing, very comfortable and well designed.-The humbuckers are outstanding. I had fully planned to change them out, but they sound better than the ones on the Silveray that immpressed me. They chug amazingly at full volume and gain. They are very responsive to the volume knob, clean up like champs and retain clarity as you roll the volume down. Even the tone knobs are very responsive and not just decorations-Did I mention they cost $199?The issues are small and easily fixed. After swapping out the tuners, I will have a guitar that plays and feels better than any of my very expensive and heavy american made overpriced single cuts.I will definitely add more Staggs to my collection

Very well made
Loved the sound and quality of this guitar. I love budget guitars and this has made me more interested in Stagg guitars. Even the electronics, sound and feel nice. The sunburst finish wasn’t very impressive, I’d go with a solid color. My only complaint!

Wrong colour was the least of the problems
Stagg is known more for a being a "beginner brand" but Amazon had a great deal for this model ($270) so I took the chance. First, I ordered the Honeyburst finish and received the Sunburst version. The Sunburst finish is unconvincing and looks incredibly fake. Unfortunately, the finish was the least of the issues. The tune-o-matic bridge was screwed in at a very pronounced slant and the strings didn't line up correctly through the bridge. The frets felt nice with no sharp edges but the nut (nu-bone, a nice nut for a guitar at this price point) wasn't flush and there was a large gap between the nut and the fingerboard. I could slide my pick into the space. Returned same day.

Nice Looking Guitar but the 3 way switch is broken and snapped off.
Package arrived with loads of packing in the box but the selector switch is broken off at the base of it and will need to be changed. Other then that looks good. Warehouse deals always have something wrong with them hence the lower price sold as used.

It’s ok for the price tho 👍🏾
Good fir beginners in the beninging stages of their playing also could have packed it better it was not even taped properly when I received it. Also the frets could have used a filing to smooth it out. Hopefully I can do something about it.
