Works with Behringer XD80USB (with modifications)
I initially ordered this to see if it would work with my Behringer XD80USB drum kit. Out of the box it does not; but if you're willing to open it up and make some modifications, you can get it to work. You'll need a soldering iron and a 100k ohm slide potentiometer (35mm in length ... get the one with a slide arm... you'll have to dremel some of the slide arm off as it will be too long). The slide potentiometer inside this hi-hat controller is 20k ohms... the Behringer XD80USB requires a 100k ohm slide potentiometer for its hi-hat controller (35mm in total length). I ordered the slide potentiometer, and then I scraped off a bit of the track at the high end of the pot (when the hi-hats are open) so that it would force the circuit to open and cause the hi-hats to sound open. The one thing you do lose with this "hack" is the ability to "chik" the hi-hats... which I hardly ever do when playing, so no big loss for me.

Worked perfectly but it does not improve the hi-hat performance
Worked perfectly but it does not improve the hi-hat performance/response which you get with a Roland hi-hat pedal.

Good solution for short money!
For the price tag it works great! If you don't have the cash to plop down on a Roland VH Hi-hat. This works surprising well on an old acoustic hi hat stand I had collecting dust. It's not perfect but with a little effort messing with edrum controller and mounting your hi hat cymbal to the stand. It gives you the ability to use the hi hat as a normal hi hat. The only thing I don't like and have to work on is it spins when playing it. Need to figure away to keep it from spinning. But, I do like it and do recommend it and I would buy it again. It got here earlier than expected and arrived in good condition.

another $60 to make it GREAT is well worth it
THIS fixes the hi-hat issues for the Alesis Strike Pro kit. I still haven't even run the calibration program, and it's playable. I used to have to think about how I was striking the hat to get the right trigger sounds, but with this, I just.... play. I don't have to think about it anymore. If you sprang for a $2,400 drum set, another $60 to make it GREAT is well worth it. Quit thinking about it and put it in your cart, and buy it now. You'll thank me later.

Hi Hat Trigger issues fixed!!!!!
This little controller is a lifesaver!!! My stock Alesis hi hat has never triggered correctly. Spotty triggering made playing a bummer. I was looking for a whole new hi hat set up when I came across geodrum. For $60, I figured I’d give it a try. Hooked up and started triggering perfectly immediately. Sounds great, no issues. Stop wasting time with settings adjustments and firmware updates and blah blah blah. Get this little controller and start playing again!!!

Works almost as expected and very pleased overall
I expected it to have a slightly sturdier feel but the product works well so far. I would also like a definitive description that states cable type. I have tried TS and TRS cables and not sure which this is intended for. I 3d printed a stabilizer to make it sturdier at the base and then placed it on top of a traditional high hat stand. I then made an adapter to attach my electronic high hat pad to the stand that keeps it from rotating. The combination works great. The only real downside functionally is that without a bottom "cymbal" there is nothing to stabilize the pad when it's down in closed position so it doesn't "feel" closed... the way a traditional pair of high hats would. This device needs wings or a shell to support the pad when it's closed, more like their full approach that they sell, but this was the relatively low cost improvement I was looking for. If it had a way for the hat to feel closed it would save me the trouble of having to make something, but it would also cost what they're charging for their full pad and controller combo so no real complaints :-)

Only lasted 2 years
This was so great when I first bought it. Using my mapex hi-hat stand and a Roland CY-12C cymbal with this to create an awesome, more cost effective hi-hat. I was so happy. Alas, it was not meant to be. This trigger now works very intermittedly. Very aggravating to slightly open your hats during a groove and then they just stay open. UGH!!! I wouldn't recommend this product. I am now looking for another option so I can get rid of this thing.

Better than expected
I purchased this because I bought a used Roland VH-10 cymbal without a motion sensor. Since i was unable to find the appropriate Roland brand sensor, I decided to give this one a try. I received this a few weeks before the anticipated delivery. I was very happy with the shipping time since this came from Taiwan. I just received this product, so I have very limited experience. What I can say is that the set up was quick and very easy. I removed the plug from my foot pedal and inserted it into this and it was ready to go. My initial testing showed that it triggers appropriately. I’m very pleased with this purchase so far, but will update it anything changes.
