The DC dongle adapter solved the problem
The dongle is the best and least expensive solution if you forget your new Dell AC adapter at work before a trip. I took and old standard Dell adapter from an old laptop from home and ordered the dongle and dropped shipped it to my hotel. The battery lasted long enough for work until the dongle arrived. I order extra now for a spare at work and for other co-workers. I highly recommend ordering a least two. It can be a life saver when you must get work done in the middle of the night and can't even buy an ac adapter at any price.

Works with XPS 15 9750
Works almost perfectly with an old Inspiron charger and my XPS 15 9750.Only weird thing is that of a pack of 3, one of the adaptors sticks out of the XPS slightly more than the others. However this doesn't affect the functionality of the adaptor.

Works like a champ
After a new power supply, DC power jack, & a new battery pack, it was this converter into an old power supply that worked.

Fried my battery
Appears this dongle fried the battery in my computer. Prior to using this product I could leave my laptop unplugged for 3-4 hours minimum, now it shows plugged in not charging. I've tried the original charger and tried the dongle again, and moved to multiple plugs in the house and still no success. So I guess I'm stuck with a product that doesn't work and now have to go buy a new battery.

Not a good connection
The tip on the laptop end is not quite big enough, making the connection loose and unreliable. You have to wiggle it a bit repeatedly to get it to charge.
