When I started to use mascara there was black navy blue or brownish black available. I like this brown, I feel like my lashes look natural but with good definition.The first coat goes on evenly, coats each lash and the brush gives a slight lift. After a second coat there is some clumping together and I personally think one coat looks better. I rarely wear a lot of make up so this subtle brown is more flattering, particularly when I have salt and pepper hair.There was no flaking or smudging after a full day, it was really easy to take off too.It is very good value and works well but I am giving four stars because I don't think it adds much volume compared to others in the range.

I did feel a little apprehensive about trying this mascara as I have always used a premium one - the same one for years. I was told a while ago that brown is softer for an older lady so I thought I would buy one. Alas my tried and trusted mascara has discontinued brown. So because this was offered in the brown shade I decided to give it a try.Well it arrived today and I used it this evening, two of my friends commented at how lovely the colour is and how long my eye lashes appeared. Well firstly the wand is easy to use and there was no lumps and it applied smoothly. On putting the wand back it screws securely so no chance of opening and leaking in your handbag. It is a chunky mascara but still fitted in my clutch easily.On returning home it removed easily with a eye make up wipe. All in all a really good value mascara at a fantastic price, happy to r commend.
