Great Product
Bougth this for my German Shepherd. Hes big strong and friendly but can respond to what he thinks is a threat pretty powerfully. This has been the best collar leash I have tried. Believe me I have tried everything, but he still pulls a bit more than we want. With this it stays up where you need it to be and we have much better control without a struggle or issue. Excellent product, great leather which I believe makes the difference.

Great traction, couple of cons
I love the leather look on my dog and the quality of the product. It does well for what it’s worth. My only draw backs are: the tabs on the slip wear down quickly (I am a professional dog trainer, and about a week into my dogs they loosened) and the leash slips down the dog’s neck with a couple of corrections, and if you DO have a strong puller, I may advise against this specific slip. I’ve had two dogs that knew their strength and pulled so many times against corrections on this slip and ended up stripping some fur and rubbing themselves raw in small spots. If you have a sensitive dog, I’d recommend it.

Great quality
This is such a great leash! I have a huge Old English Sheepdog with the strength of a little pony, and this leash holds him perfectly. It stays in place, and won't knot his hair. I highly recommend this, plus it's beautiful real leather!

Comfortable to use.
I'm a volunteer dog handler at a local shelter. I go through a couple of slip leads per year. In the past I've used the normal cord type slip leads which wear out and some dogs bite mostly through. I purchased one of these leads to see if it would be better. So far, I'm pleased with it. the flat leather is easier on the hands and the dog's neck than a round cord. Easy to hold in mid length when you want to walk a dog on short lead. It seems quite strong enough for even the largest of our dogs. Durability and bite resistance yet to be determined.UPDATE: After 2 -3 weeks of fairly hard use. The leather has held up well, with a couple dings from leash biters. The main problem is the stoppers which quickly become loose and don't stay put. I wish the manufacturer would use spring loaded stoppers like you find on other drawstring items. I have a couple cord type slip leads with spring loaded stoppers which work nicely.UPDATE: After 2+ months of use, I still like it. It has accumulated a lot of nicks from the leash biters, but none that are close to biting through. This appears to be really good quality leather like used on horse tack. I used zip ties to tighten up the stoppers and this seems to be working OK.UPDATE: After 10 months of use, it's time to replace it. The nicks are getting to the point where it might break with enough force. The zip ties work fairly well and can be tightened up as necessary. This lead has lasted longer than any others before so I will be getting another one.

Nice soft leather
I was pleasantly surprised with this leash for the price. It's soft and folds nicely in your hand when you want a shorter lead. The stoppers stay in place also which is is helpful and a first for a leather slip lead (for me at least). It does have a smell to it, but it's just leftovers from the tanning I believe and and a little saddle soap and some conditioner got rid of it easily. Teddy has already been trained on a slip lead, so I can't really say anything about it's functionality because he already knows how to walk with it on and respond accordingly to corrections. If you are looking to teach your dog how to walk nicely or just simply would like to train with a slip lead, I would recommend this leash for you. The flat leather is not as hard on their necks and the leather makes it easy to grip, no rope burn if they decide to pull or lunge suddenly. I can't really rate its durability as we've only had a few days now but from the looks of it, looks like it will last quite some time if the leather is taken care of properly. For those who say it's junk because their dog or puppy chewed on it...yes, leather will break if it is chewed on; it's not the fault of the product, just the fault of the owners not watching their dog while they are leashed.

Great lead
We use these at our boarding training and daycare facility. They are great quality and do not break the bank. They are pretty soft to begin with but over time they break in real nice. The staff always reaches for these if they have a choice. I recommend them to all the owners in our doggie classes. They are much easier to grip than nylon leashes as well.
