Motorcraft CX1866 Valve

The image pictured may not match part number CX1866 but it IS the CX1866. It seems these last from 60-90 thousand miles before going bad. My application was a 2000 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. Whenever I came to a stop, the idle increased and there was a loud noise, like a horn sound coming from under the hood. It sounded like the noise was coming from the air filter box. Some internet research pointed to this part. After replacement, the issue was resolved completely. Two 10mm screws and one electrical connection. I used a 1/4" ratchet with a 4" extension - try not to drop the bottom screw upon removal! Also, be careful when removing the part so you don't damage the gasket. A gasket is NOT provided and must be purchased separately if needed. 10 minute replacement. For this particular part, don't waste your time or money on another brand from one of the national parts store chains - they will not last as long. Motorcraft is worth the extra cost - in this instance.

I just recived my IAC, Part is OEM Motorcraft and made in the USA thats a big plus but no gasket so be aware, but shipping it is another story, come on man you shipped it in a plastic bag?? hopefully is not damaged and it will work, (See pics above)package arrived crushed, torn open, dents on the side of the part it self, that's what happens when you package it wrong and ship it UPS, or FedEx and DHL for the price I paid I expect better packaging specially for part like that, I find out later if it works if not than I will return it, messege to the seller/shipper you need to do a better job packaging on some car parts if you gonna ship UPS this is not acceptable the way my part showed up, if you gonna ship cheap than use USPS they do way less damage. Trust me I know.Do I recommend buying this part? So far absolutly since it is OEM and made in the USA, only wish it came with a gasket like it should be for the price you pay.

Replaced the OEM unit on a 2001 Lincoln Town Car with a 4.6L V8 that was no longer working properly. Easy bolt on and still working great almost 2 years later.

If you need to buy one of these look no futher..I bought an aftermarket iac valve which was defective bought this one & worked!

Part worked as expected. Fit and functioned properly. For the cost it could have came with a gasket though.

Original equipment. Restored my 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis idle to perfection. This part should be replaced at the 100k mile tune up in my opinion.

ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO AMAZON SAID THIS IS WHAT I NEEDED FOR MY 2001 MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS AND NOW THEY SAY THAT THIS WILL NOT FIT MY CAR.SO I ORDERED IT ANYWAY AND FIND OUT THAT THE IDLE IS WAY TO FAST.SO I GOT ONE FROM ADVANCE AUTO PARTS BWD BRAND AND IT WORKS GOOD.I WENT ON OTHER SITES AND THE MOTORCRAFT CX1866 IS THE CORRECT ONE.I MUST HAVE GOT A DEFECTIVE ONE - I WANTED TO SEND IT BACK TO AMAZON TO GET A REPLACEMENT BUT THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS TO OLD TO SEND BACK.I DO NOT THINK THAT WAS RIGHT.
