The Little Red Hen (Little Golden Book)

This is a great book. I liked it as a child. I am now 71 years old. I bought this copy for a 2 year old. It is recommended for preschool and kindergarten. But Manny is mature.

Excellent book with a timeless message about selflessness and helpfulness. I gave a copy to my step children who like to sit around and watch their mom do everything for them. I wonder if they'll get the hint.

I love little golden books ,I remember having these same books when I was a child and now I love to give them to my grand daughter .

My 2yo granddaughter loves this story. Pictures are wonderful with lots to talk about. A classic for sure.

I wanted to get my 14 month old granddaughter the same kind of books that I read to her father when he was a child and I am not disappointed. We all know these books and love them. I’ve started a collection for her of all the classics. They just don’t make them like this anymore! It’s nice to see her opening books instead of sitting in front of a TV. Great quality as always and great stories. I very highly recommend these to your children of grandchildren.

It teaches children the importance of taking responsibility for their actions and not expecting others to do things for them. This valuable lesson is conveyed through the story of the little red hen who tirelessly works on planting wheat, harvesting it, and baking bread all by herself while her lazy friends refuse to lend a hand. The moral of the story encourages young readers to be diligent and helpful, which is an essential life skill.The simplicity of the storytelling also appealed to me. The language used in the book is clear and concise, making it easily understandable for young readers at an 8th-grade level. If there was one thing that slightly disappointed me about The Little Red Hen, it would be the lack of diversity among the characters. While this may have been more reflective of the time when the book was originally published.
