Didn't cure my new multi-page-grabbing problem
I wanted to believe this and its pad assembly counterpart would breathe new life into my aging S510M which recently started picking up several sheets at once with regularity. Sadly it did not.

Welcome Back, Old Friend
I have always liked this scanner, but, when it started going south and picked up multiple sheets, I could only use it for single sheets. Irk.I figured it was a roller, and contemplated buffing it up with a wire brush, but never got around to it. When I saw that Amazon sells replacement parts, I bought both the pick roller and the pick pad.I replaced the pick roller first, to experiment. Great improvement, but still sent multiple sheets if the paper had folds. Replaced the pick pad, and it works like new. Far cheaper than a new one. There are instructions included, but they are in many languages and somewhat obtuse. You can find videos for each on [...] Installation is easy, though:Pick roller. Open the front, as if you had a paper jam. The plastic part (mine is grey) that has the adjusters for paper size has two squeeze tabs, one on each side. Squeeze and lift out the part. You will see the roller on a steel bar. On the left is a brass "forked" tab. The fork is down. Lift the fork until it is upright. This frees the left side of the bar. Lift the left side up SLIGHTLY, until you feel resistance. The right side of the bar is inserted into a brass nut. Gently, GENTLY, wiggle the bar, pulling lightly to the left. The bar will come off and out.Holding the left side of the bar with your left hand, at the gear, note the small plastic tab on the right side of the roller. Fiddle that until the tab comes out of a notch in the bar. The roller will then slide to the right and off.Take the new roller and, orienting the notch on the left side of the roller to line it up with a pin on the bar, slide the roller on until the pin goes into the notch. The catch on the right side should lock into the notch in the bar.Insert the right side of the bar into the brass nut, engage the gears on the left side by gently pushing down on the bar. Reengage the fork by pushing down, and then replace the grey plastic paper guide. Finished. As for the pick pad, I think you need to replace both. For $55 or so, for both, you have a new scanner. You can probably economize by not buying the spray cleaner for $25 (overpriced). With the front opened and forward, at the top, middle, of the front part, there's the pick pad. Note how it looks in place. Squeeze the two plastic tabs and gently lift out. With the same orientation, put the new one in, ensuring the tabs click in place.Close the front, and you're good to go. An absolute ripoff BUT
It fixes the scanner. It's impossible to tell the difference between the old one and the new, but it converted a useless scanner into one that works like new. Fujitsu should be ashamed for charging so much for this $2 part, but without it (and the pad assembly, which is even more of a ripoff), you may as well use the scanner for a doorstop....

Sent a used roller, worse than one I'm replacing
I unfortunately received a wrinkled roller that appears in worse shape than the one I'm replacing. The item came poorly packaged, unwrapped with two sets of instructions. Looks like someone just threw this together. The other item I ordered from the same company was wrapped in plastic, with a proper UPS and one set of instructions, obviously unused. Very disappointed that someone would ship used goods.

It's a pick roller; it picks and rolls
Not much to say about this product - it is what it is, and it does what it does. But it (combined with the pad assembly I also bought) was exactly what I needed to fix the problem of my ScanSnap S510 pulling multiple sheets at once. Everything is back to the way it should be now.

Great tune up item
This with the pad assembly got the scanner back to picking only one sheet at a time. I wish it had lasted longer than a year but I'd been warned that they wouldn't. I took off a star for longevity but they do help keep the Scansnap humming along.

Holly Mackerel... Batman....
Holly Mackerel... Batman....This thing really fixed it. Fujitsu fi-5110C was skipping and stuffing pages, making crooked pages, would not multi page feed and was ready for the trash. Pulled the roller and cleaned it off till it looked brand new and it still had the problems. Got this replacement that really does not look any different than the cleaned up old one but BLAM... Its working perfect now!No jams, no skips, even able to multi page feed flawlessly... Fantastic! I've got my scanner back.

This fixed my double feed problem.
I carefully cleaned the old roller several times with 90% rubbing alcohol until it felt sticky again, but it still feed more than one sheet at a time. Before buying a new scanner, I figured on trying a new roller first. It worked perfectly right away!Like others, I also purchased the Fujitsu Pad Assembly FI-C511P (For Scansnap FI-5110EOX or 5110C), but found that I did not need it since just the new roller solved the problem of multi-feed issue. Since I had the Pad Assembly, I just replaced the old one anyways.

Perfect replacement but expensive!
Perfect OEM replacement. Only issue is that it's so expensive!
