Perytech USB Oscilloscope DSO-U2200 240MS/s

This review is for the Perytech USB Oscilloscope DSO-U2200 240MS/s. This PC based oscilloscope is simplistic and minimalist with limited features, however for my purposes it's great. I use it on Arduino projects to analyze io signals and timing, pretty basic stuff. The hardware appears to be well made and the included probes acceptable (not particularly robust, but very adequate). The software installation was straight forward, not requiring many resources for installation or operation. I'm running it on an Azulle Byte3 (RDP to it, Win 10 Pro 4Gb/32Gb with added 120Gb SSD) along side the ArduinoIDE and it runs great, no issues. NOTE: Both would have fit w/o the SSD. The image is a save of the PWM signal across an LED (incredibly simple to do). There are definitely better PC based scopes available, some from Perytech, but for the cost this thing rocks.

Very nice features similar to pricy self-contained oscopes I've used professionally. Looks well made, not at all cheaply constructed. Comes with two probes that seem good quality, too. Software installed on Windows 10 with no problems and the interface mimics a standard scope and is easy to use. Excellent value.

Excellent DSO. Good price. I like it very well. I have used O'Scopes all my life (many, many years) and find this one for use on my laptop very versatile and quite accurate.

I didn't realize when I made the purchase, but there is no support for Mac OS X. I'm so used to everything having cross platform support that I didn't realize that was an issue.

After looking at the usual suspects for a USB scope I found this one, the price is good and it is made in Taiwan so I was quite intrigued. I bought it by ordering directly from Perytech, they ship worldwide and you can email them for a quote, payable by Paypal.The scope has good build quality with an anodized brushed metal case and heavy duty-looking metal BNC connectors, looks like it can handle some abuse. Attached 1:1 10:1 100 Mhz probes appeared to be good quality as well, the overall packaging shows this is a good piece of equipment made with care.The GUI is intuitive and looks like a hardware scope, I was able to use all the functions right away. The performance was impressive for this price! Response to inputs was fast, better than some of the dedicated scopes I have used, so I presume that the processing is done completely in the hardware rather than downloading processing to the PC host.Glad I bought this, looking forward to trying it out on some personal projects.
