Very pretty, sort of fleshy-toned stone in person. I like that it is low profile so when I'm quickly putting the soap bar back I can't knock it over (like some dishes on little pedestals). I keep it by my kitchen sink and it blends nicely with my cream granite. One review I read (before I purchased) said the stone dish started to smell...I found that a strange thing to say, and now that I've had my dish for a few months, I find there is no way this stone dish could ever get a 'stink' to it ... so that bad review might have been a competitor. The stone is very smoothly polished. I give it a perfect 5 stars.

Soap dish arrived today. It said natural stone, but I kind of expected it to be a composite, or a cheap, thin dish. Which for a bathroom soap dish, I could have lived with. Surprisingly, the dish was a solid, thick piece of light brown marbled look finish. Really quite beautiful and smoothly polished. Will make a terrific soap dish and it looks great in the bathroom at the sink!

This is an excellent quality marble soap dish. It is far cheaper and better than anything that I have ever found in a retail store. It will work best on countertops because it has no holes for drainage if used in the shower. We loved it so much that we bought several for our other bathrooms.

This is a great dish, and it was my fault for mistaking the slits on the bottom of it for extra drainage. With soapdishes the issue is always that water and soap scum collect at the bottom of the dish. I thought this one self-drained through holes on the bottom, but that was just wishful thinking. Overall it's a pretty dish with a great heft. I'd recommend it!

Absolutely perfect!! Really pretty and my soaps sit on it perfectly! Sometimes it sticks but that's a problem from the soaps. Not the dish.Edit!!!! I'm not sure what went wrong but this soap holder now has an awful smell! I rinse it off pretty frequently as I have colored soaps and when washing it off this morning I almost vomited because of the smell! I ordered this back in May and the smell is now so bad that I have replaced it and thrown it away.
