Not worth it
Very basic introduction to Javascript.Print quality is poor.

Great practical guide.
Everything is short and to the point. This makes for a very fast tutorial that actually teaches a lot about JavaScript.

Waste of money
There are spelling and grammar mistakes in the text of this book. The intro of the book says that this book is useful for complete beginners of computer programming. This is untrue. This book does not teach things that complete beginners of computer programming need to know. The intro of this book says that the author has written in a simple language. Also untrue. The author does not write in a language simple enough.Feels like just a pile of random codes put together in a book to make some profit but without much planning gone into the book and no effort has been put into making sure there are no spelling and grammar mistakes in the book. Even the intro is inaccurate, fooling people to buy the book when clearly not much money has been put into making sure this book is good quality.

Very Disappointing
It is NOT, as claimed, "A Step-by-Step Guide for Absolute Beginners" - it's very much a mish mash of hoe javascript may be used in web pages. There is no real Index merely a Table of Contents which are too high level if one is looking for a particular Operator. I cannot recommend this book for the beginner, anyone interested in learning Javascript, or for anyone wanting to see how it may be effectively used to support web development.

Very Good Content But Bad Presentation
The book's content is very good. All the code examples are clear and easy to follow. This very good content is badly let down by bad presentation. Some text is so faint that some readers might struggle to read it.The contents page is misleading in many ways for example "History Object" is shown to be on page 161 but it is on page 167, "Page Printing" is shown to be on page 166 but it is on page 173. When you are reading the book, it is difficult to knw which chapter you are reading because the heading at the top of every page is "JavaScript Programming" instead of being the name of the chapter you are reading. This is a very good book badly let down by very bad presenation.
