This thing is incredible!!
You can tell by looking at the blade that it was handcrafted by a Korean blacksmith. Also, the blade is kind of heavy, but it cuts through branches like a hot knife through butter once you get it in motion. I was even able to slice through branches about 2 inches thick.Despite me putting this blade through hell, I haven't noticed any damage at all and the wooden handle seems to absorb a lot of the shock unlike the plastic handle on my old machete. If you want a blade with extreme durability and effectiveness, you can't go wrong with a Korean made blade like this one!

Beautiful, functional, traditional
This is a really high quality tool. It's a delight to use. I edged it up a bit on a chef's knife hone stick and it went through an inch thick sumac stalk with one swipe. I've been out happily whacking away at offending saplings that are invading my personal space and shading the raspberry patch. It's like a weed whacker and hatchet in one. I wish I'd bought it years ago. The weight of the very thick blade carries it through everything from annual weeds to young trees, and made short work of the grape vines that are choking out the edges of my yard. When it's not like 400 degrees out I'm gonna leather up and finally take down the invasive dog roses! This thing is awesome and worth every penny.Give it an oil treatment before you put it away after use. It's carbon steel, not stainless (carbon steel is correct for a serious edged tool) and needs to be cared for as such.

Really nice product and very sharp
Slices through just about anything pencil width like it was butter. Takes a little while to figure out the best angles of attack, but it will chop through thicker branches and your fingers if you aren’t careful. 1-2” is very doable in one swing. Feels very sturdy and well made.
