This little knife is very nice.
It may not be quite as comfortable as ideal in my rather large hands (for a woman). I still value the short blade close to my fingers for working with fruit. The packaging is lovely, well-fitted and handsome, like so many Japanese products. Glad I bought it. We'll see how it works for me over time.

My favorite bird's beak peeler.
This is one of the very best paring knives I own. Some people call these "turning knives" and think of the French "tourné" cut, but I assure you I never practice that, however for many delicate task this is the knife to have. Like cutting up strawberries, where you have to cut out the crown (with the tip of the knife), and also, as you go along, you have to cut out any bruises. I end up usually cutting the strawberries in 8ths lenghtwise and make a flower arrangement on my morning dish of oats. Drizzle it with balsamic vinegar, and you're good to go! It is for all these types of delicate task that a bird's beak paring/peeling knife is indispensable. Another task is peeling potatoes, which I do mostly after I boil them, but again, you have to also take out any little blemishes or what I call "pits" in the skin, but without taking out the highly nutritous layer just below the skin. The fine tip of this knife is perfect for that. And, because it is only 2-1/2" long, you can work with your thumb opposing the tip without risking that your fingers slide off the handle and on to the sharp of the knife. For my money this is one of the most perfect peeling/paring knives you can find. Even a mundane task like peeling an apple just goes noticeably better with this little gem of a knife.

Sharp and Agile
I'll start off by saying I'm no chef. I do end up preparing a lot of apples since my kids and dog love them. I've used several different birds beak knives and this is by far the best. Smaller than I expected and that turns out to be one of its best characteristics. Sharpness is the other. This is my first MAC and won't be my last. This is going in my knife block with my Tojiro DP knives and select Wusthofs. It is similar in size to a cheap Henckles I have, but obviously way better quality and stays very sharp for longer. It is a clear winner over a similar priced Dalstrong (an Amazon promoted brand). Stays much sharper and is like comparing a fast running shoe to a farmer's dirt clod kicker.

Not great.
It simply wasn’t up to par. I wouldn’t buy it again.
