Robinair (34288) CoolTech R-134A Recovery, Recycling, and Recharging Machine

I knew next to nothing about AC service when I purchased the Robinair 34288 via Amazon. I relied on my service technician's recommendation regarding whether or not the several different machines I was evaluating had the features we needed at the shop to efficiently perform quality AC service. The 34288 had some very good reviews on Amazon and elsewhere. I am 100% satisfied with this purchase and the performance of the Robinair 34288. I found the best price on Amazon and with free super saver shipping to boot! It arrives on a pallet in the back of a freight truck. Took very few minutes to do a little assembly and scan the instructions. Getting live tech help on the phone for some set-up and operation questions required jumping through a couple of small hoops, but we did get the help we needed (even got an offer for free on-site training next time the tech rep was in the area). I would not hesitate to purchase another Robinair machine if my shops needs a second machine in the future. Next time I _MIGHT_ step up to the model that also adds oil. The 34288 requires the purchase of a separate oiler to add oil after you have put a vacuum on the system.

Saw that this had an oil reservoir and didn't see anywhere that this machine does NOT inject oil/dye. Other than that, machine is great. Typical Robinair reliability. Just wish I didn't have to buy another tool to put dye in the systems.

This machine does what it says it does but is a bare bones machine. It has not oil injection for adding oil into the ac charge and it does not have an air bleed feature either. In a professional operation, the oil charge is really needed to do the job quickly. It works but I would have bought the better machine if I had realized the lack of features.

I have two of these units. One is about five years old and this one is now fairly new. They get used quite often in my shop of six mechanics. My advice is to also use a sealant detector and a refrigerant identifier to prevent contamination and damage to the machine. Change the oil when it tells you to and it will last a long time and work reliably all the while.

Been using Robinair products for over 20 years. Started my own small business and just wanted a basic unit to do AC repairs and service. As always, works great and been using it daily for over 4 months with no issues.

I have a few of these in our repair shop. They are a solid machine. I like that they have manual valves instead of electronic valves.

Great machine with just the basic you need for a full recovery and accurate charging of R134-A systems.
