I have very sensitive, dehydrated skin and this product is the first thing I reach for when it starts to get red, hot and itchy. It is a no-frills essence that is just 3 ingredients: water, mugwort and a preservative, that’s it. I think that is why it is something that I can tolerate when my skin is so angry and inflamed. I use it every day now, even when my skin is calm and not irritated.It is a watery consistency that absorbs very quickly into the skin and feels very cooling and moisturizing on contact. For me, it is a great beginning step right after I cleanse that calms my skin and preps it for my serum and moisturizer. For the days when my skin is extra angry, I will put this on periodically through the day. I almost wish it came in a misting bottle for this purpose!This bottle will last you quite a while which makes is a great value for your money as well. I have used it at least once (usually two or three times) a day for the last month and I am not even a third of the way through it.The packaging overall is very nice. I love the weight and feel of the glass bottle (it makes me feel kinda bougie) but just be careful to keep it away from the edge of the sink as it will break if it drops!Overall, this has become a mainstay in my skincare routine and I would highly recommend it to anyone who has sensitive and/or irritated skin.

I am enjoying this essence so, so much. My skin feels firm, but not tight. My pores look smaller. I have not broken out or developed any dry patches. I don't notice a scent and a little goes a long way. I have combination oily skin. I am not acne prone and have rather smooth skin with uneven skin tone here and there. This one, so far, will be a staple in my skin care routine.

If you have ever eaten japanese yomogi mochi/daifuku you are already familiar with this scent, the closest western description I can come up with is an herbal-pine scent. I am very sensitive to scents/strong smells and similar tot the food , the essence smell is very subtle and very pleasant to put on the face. There is no stinging and the skin soaks it up without any lingering tackiness.I tried the travel/sample size --- love that more affordable option since shops via amazon mostly do not allow returns after trying as far as I know --- and really liked it. I am hoping this will help with my rosacea but haven't used it long enough nor exclusively to really know. That said, I enjoy it enough to continue with a the full sized bottle and give it a try.I first tried the rice series of this brand for my dry skin and hyperpigmentation issues and like it very much, as well.

So I started skin flooding, and I’m not going to lie. I wasn’t loving the look of this and I wasn’t loving the name of it… Call me shallow I don’t care. I like some feng shui on my vanity. Anyway. After researching what wonders mugwort does for the skin plus it’s such a big deal on TikTok I decided to purchase this. Well. I am in love with it!!! First off I decanted it into a frosted glass bottle with a lotion pump lid. But about the product… It is watery, but has a little viscosity to it, not like a thick, milky toner, but in between a milky toner and a regular watery toner/essence. My skin just drinks it up, it has a lovely natural, faint earthy smell, it is very pleasant. It’s not sticky and I would bathe in it if I could. To think I could’ve gone my whole life without mugwort essence just makes me shudder.
