Q: how narrow can you get a groove?

Approximately 3/4” width is the narrowest groove that you can practically do with the wide footplate. There is a narrow footplate that can give you a little narrower groove available from the manufacturer for an additional charge.

Q: It says 500degree in the description, and 1000degeree in the picture. Which is it?

It’s a 200 watt unit, degrees are variable and conditional on the material you’re cutting. Light foam will cut quickly. Dense foam like that used in ICF construction will cut slowly.
