Works great for draining grease

Works awesome, only minor drawback is the handle is a little on the flimsy side when draining heavy foods.

Like most, I purchased this because I needed an easy way to strain grease from my cooking and then pour it into a jar or can for disposal. Item works great for this purpose and can strain up to 3-lbs of ground beef (that's the most I've done at once and filled it up most of the way). My only complaint is that I wish the bottom grease trap part attached to the colander part so that I could easily pour the collected grease into a jar. As it is, I have to kind of bend the plastic trap and pour it (not a big deal, but it is a slight hassle). I also wish the lid fit easier. It takes some force to get it on the first few times until the plastic loosens up a bit.

this has been the handiest kitchen gadget I hv purchased lately. Bought to drain the grease as advertised but I drain everything now. I drain the pasta so i can save pasta water to use when needed. I drain all vegetable broccoli, etc just so handy!! Bought one for my son who does a lot of cooking and he says the same thing, Yes we recommend!

It seems like it's just another strainer, but it is so much better than any other ordinary strainer. It has a large capacity, it has slots instead of holes so that food doesn't get caught and it's easy to clean. You can use it one- handed. It has a cup to catch liquid, so you don't have to put it in the sink, and you don't have to worry about grease going down the drain. The shape makes it more compact for storage. It's just way better!

Except for the color (what I call slime green), this colander is fantastic (if a colander can be that???). It's not so much the colander itself, but the fact that a receptacle is tightly attached to the bottom so that you can drain the grease/juice keeping the meat/veggies dry and pour the liquid into any container cleanly. I bought this for draining the grease off bacon because I can never get all the grease out of the pan without pieces of bacon of falling into the grease can. I also tried it when draining liquid out of canned vegetables so that I can use the juice later in another recipe. This works wonders. But the color -- I have to close my eyes to use it. Couldn't you make it in primary colors or black?

This colander is by far the best kitchen "gadget" I have purchased in quite some time!! I use it to drain grease from ground beef mostly and it held 3 lbs with absolutely no problem at all. The plastic is durable and it makes clean up so much easier. Highly recommend

I just received it yesterday and used it last night. I love it! We recently moved to “the country” and are now on septic - no more grease going down the drain! I have been using my metal colander with different bowls underneath but thought surely there is a product made for what I’m doing. And yes there is. Great product. The bowl that catches the grease fits under the colander perfectly, holds all the grease and this morning, when it was cool and solid I dumped it. So easy!
