Otherwise it is a great book, and I highly recommend it even if ...
This book is extremely informative. There is just enough information in here to understand the physics of radiation therapy for physicists, dosimetrists, therapists, and whomever else is involved with radiation therapy. I knocked a star off because there are a number of grammatical mistakes, typos, and printing errors (e.g. random spaces in the middle of words). You would think by the 5th edition they would have hired a proofreader and fixed these issues by now. Otherwise it is a great book, and I highly recommend it even if it isn't required for courses you are taking. In addition, getting the latest version is crucial as the field of radiation therapy is constantly evolving, and this book keeps up with current developments.

Blase Teaching
This book defines every topic of radiation therapy, but fails to actually teach it. I have a bachelor degree in radiologic science and often have trouble understanding what this book attempts to describe.Pros:-fully covers every topic of the subject-organized in an order that builds upon recall and understanding-has overviews at the end of each chapter-some figures are very helpful-if you have a mathematics background, you may find the explanations helpfulCons:-It often gives very brief description of important topics without giving detailed examples-equations given as the full explanation of a subject instead of detailed descriptions (this causes poor explanation of important concepts unless you have a good background in mathematics)-almost no examples of equations being used or explanations on how to use equations (further causing confusion)-many figures lack enough description to make them pertinent (some figures are done well, but most are not)-never uses practical examples in any descriptions (leads me to believe the writers/editors have absolutely no experience in current clinical settings)This is a textbook so it's usually not optional to purchase. But, if you do have the option, do not buy.

DO NOT buy the Kindle version of this book. Don't! Just don't.
Buying the Kindle edition of this book was a HUGE waste of money. I regretted it the minute I started reading it. There are no page numbers, so you can't match it to the physical book, and it's also impossible to reference a page number.I bought the Kindle edition thinking I could use the book both at home and at work without having to lug it back and forth, but instead I'm using an older edition because I hate using the Kindle edition. This is way too much money to spend on something that you can't get a refund on if you're dissatisfied. Did I mention I hate it?
