Hopefully I can add some clarity
I've been using this product and others like it for going on 10 years. It is essentually the same. I was dianosed with Fuch's in both eyed in the left it was quite severe. I had the same question as some of you. Muro is marketed by Bausch & Lomb and made by 3rd parties. It does need to meet their same standards. You won't go wrong using Muro-128. However Alcorn must meet those same standards for effectiveness or should. It seems It seems Alcorn is made in S. Korea or that is what I read one time. One of my doctors actaully tested it and found it essentually the same. In one of the other reviews I heard Alcorn was recalled because it was manufactured defective. I never had that issue but I heard Muro was recalled a few years ago because several batches was made that contained metal filings. I know for a while Muro was difficult to find. Either way all are more than just salt and water. They contain PURIFIED water and additives to keep it from clumping and separating. The one eye has had a full depth transplant and still whacked out after 6 procedures and no longer needsSodium Cloride drop and gel but I need it still in other eye and may need to as long as I live I don't know. But I found it is as good as Muro. It is probably inexpensive to make so much is mark up and brand name. in which both may be made by the same supplier However, Alcorn is a major player in the generic industry and far from a 3rd world supplier in business out of somebody's garage. They make many of todays generic medications . You can be assured of their quality. If you feel better I would buy Muro., I used it for a few years and when I couldn't find it, I looked for alternitives and found Alcorn and it worked as well but I didn't want to endanger my vision either. Now I use both and generally start buying when I only have a couple bottles left making sure I never put in a situation again. I am nearly blind in one eye and need to protect the other and not run short again.
