I'm a picky eater, but I love these meals!
I am not much of a cook, I tend to eat out a lot. I do weight training and Crossfit and use a macro calculator on my phone to track my macros, but eating out a lot makes that difficult because many restaurants do not publish macro data on their offerings. I really hate the taste of frozen dinners. I've tried meal prep services, but the shipping trash is ridiculous (huge gel packs and giant cardboard boxes to get rid of) and the shelf life of those meals is so short I almost always ended up throwing the last one or two away. And they really didn't taste that great either. So when I saw these, I figured I'd give them a try but I was skeptical. Before even finishing the first case I had already signed up for a subscription. Even though I'm fairly picky, I love every single one of the meals in the case of 14! They're all delicious! The portions are going to seem small to people that are used to eating the ridiculous food portions that we Americans indulge in. But once you train yourself to eating less, you'll find these adequate to satisfy your hunger. The macros are right on the box so it makes macro tracking blessedly easy. Every meal has the same prep time (1 minute in the microwave) so no reading instructions every time. And NO REFRIGERATION REQUIRED!!! How awesome is that? AND they have a shelf life of over a year! I take one to work every day, most days that's my lunch but sometimes someone will want to go out and I will. No biggie for these meals, I can just stick it in my drawer at the office and eat it the next day. I stockpiled some extras at home, so if a bad storm hits and I'm stuck at home for a while, I have plenty of food.Right now I'm trying to drop some weight so I'm running a caloric deficit (1700 vs 2100). These meals are 200-300 cals per meal so I eat a couple a day and do also supplement with other food to get to 1700 cals. I've lost 6 pounds so far and have another 4 to go. These meals have helped a lot, and I plan on continuing to use them to maintain my weight afterwards. As far as the taste goes, I am really blown away at how fresh and good everything tastes. Beans are nice and crunchy, noodles taste freshly made, meat is lean and perfectly prepared. Sauces are tasty. I throw some hot sauce on the enchiladas to spice them up and add some red or black pepper to some of the meals, but they really taste great with nothing added at all.Oh and the cost, it works out to about 3.50 a meal. I'm used to eating out at lunch and spending 12+ bucks, so these are even saving me money!

The Food Is So Yummy!
I have struggled with my weight for years, and there are so many diet plans out there, and they are costly. This is easy, I make my own breakfast, and I have one meal for lunch and one for dinner, and I walk every day for exercise. I am feeling better, more energetic and the weight is coming off slow and steady. I feel doing it this way I will keep it off.I was a little hesitate about ordering but the food is very good. It allows you to add three vegetables to make is a fuller meal. Honestly I do not always have the time to do that. The meal alone is very filling, and at night I do not feel hungry. I also recommend drink your water every day.I hope this review helps someone take that step to a healthier life style.Kimberly.......Delaware

Rates for all 14 varieties
I ordered this 14 variety pack because I had read some good reviews about the HMR diet program. Most of these meals were on the small side for me, but I guess I am use to larger meals, which is why I am overweight to start with. I will list the meals by how high I rated them. I based my rating on how well these meals tasted in relationship to other single meal, diet packs.-- Chicken w/BBQ Sauce – 8/10.This was by far the best of the bunch. I would highly recommend this meal, as it had a lot of flavor.. The BBQ sauce added a nice zing to the meal, really making the whole meal melt in your mouth as you saver the meal. I even mixed my side veggie into the left over sauce to mop it all up. I will definitely buy this one in the future.-- Chicken Enchiladas, Lasagna w/Meat Sauce – 7/10.These both had a good flavor to them. The Enchiladas tasted better than most microwave enchiladas that are sold, and the lasagna was actually somewhat filling, having a decent amount of sauce and a flavorful meat sauce. I would definitely buy this one in the future.-- Rotini Chicken Alfredo, Whole Grain Medley w/Chicken, Turkey Chili w/Beans, Vegetable Stew w/beef, Penne Pasta w/Meatballs in Sauce – 6/10All of these had a decent flavor and were enough to hold me over with a side of veggies until morning. The Alfredo sauce was a little thick, but that did not really have a negative effect on the flavor of the meal as a whole. The Meatballs were a little small, but added to the taste of the Pasta, so a plus. I would not hesitate to add any of these to my shopping list in the future.-- Chicken Pasta Parmesan, Cheese & Basil Ravioli w/Tomato Sauce, Mushroom Risotto – 5/10.The Chicken Pasta had nice chunks of chicken in it. The Mushroom Risotto was ok, but more of a light snack. I might buy these ones in the future, because they are about what I would normally think a meal of this type should taste like, and it might add a little extra variety if I was tired of the better tasting meals listed before.-- Pasta Fagioli – 4.5.Not quite up to par for this type of meal. The flavor was a little flat, and there was not much to keep my interest as I was eating this meal. I did eat the whole meal thou. I probably not buy this one in the future, mostly because there is such a variety of betting tasting choices to choose from.-- Beef Stroganoff – 2/10.This is one that I would stay away from. The photo on the box increases your anticipation for this meal. But that all changes with your first bite. The meal had very little flavor and was less than blah. Because there is so many better varieties to choose from, you should probably avoid this one if you can.-- Mac and Cheese w/Butternut Squash – 0/10.I am a big fan of Mac and Cheese, and I also like Butternut Squash, so I was really looking forward to trying this meal. All that changes as soon as I pealed back the plastic covering. The gray/orange mush underneath the plastic immediately turned me off from this meal. The small that this meal was giving off reminded me of rotten meat that was way way past its expiration date. This is not a meal that I would have even tried eating in a normal situation just bases on the nasty mushy looking paste that was in the tray. But to be fair to all of the varieties I cooked up this meal and gave it a try. The first bite was so nasty that I was not sure that I could even swallow it. But I forced it down, and was determined to give it a try. By the second bite I was gaging, and the third bite I couldn’t even swallow. I tried offering some of this meal to my wife and kids, but they absolutely refused to even try it. I could not say it enough, AVOID this flavor at all costs. Unless you are making food for someone you really hate, stay away, don’t waste your money, or stink up your house with this one. I have attached a photo of this one, so that you can determine for yourself if it looks like something that you might want to take a chance on your life with.

Far better than I expected
I didn't buy these for a weight loss plan. I just needed some convenient microwave dishes I could heat up during a busy day working from home. I also travel for work so something that'd keep for a while without a refrigerator was also important. These meals exceeded my expectations. Even the Mac and Cheese was better than I expected it would be. Usually these non-refrigerated Mac and cheese meals are very bitter, but that was not the case with HMR's take on the dish. I'm very impressed and I like the variety that comes in the 14 pack of meals. Really good flavor with a good balance of ingredients in each dish. Color me impressed. I'm definitely going to keep these on-hand in my cupboard.

Not good
Most were bland or had too much sauce that tasted canned. Some sauces tasted like wallpaper paste (which I’ve never tasted but am sure that’s what it would taste like). Beef ones were made with dry chipped beef. The beef stew had virtually no vegetables - only one teeny piece of carrot, a couple of gravely peas and a gravy that tasted nothing like gravy. After trying 8, I had to throw the rest of them out. Very expensive for such poor quality.
