A little hard (but good value anyway)
I've found yellow split peas are hard to rely on when it comes to them softening up during cooking. This happend with this brand, but I've had the same issue with other brands over the past couple of years, too. Nevertheless it does have the recommended cooking time on the packet and, as I use them to make Dhal & soups for the freezer, it's not a problem to have some bite. They arrived quickly & are good value so I'm happy with them.

Good taste
Nice split peas. Try these in a soup base, with loads of fresh thyme, cooked belly pork, carrots, celeriac, leeks, served with Dijon mustard and dark rye bread. Delicious :-).

Perfect product that I want
Let me show u how I turn this product into lovely yellow pea jelly, which you can only find in a very small area of China. But now I used this product and reproduced it in UK which is really unbelievable. This pea product contains high starch and protein which is ideal for food making. I love it so much

Takes a long time for these yellow split peas to get soft
I bought the yellow split peas as I had a low carb recipe for a soup. I cooked the yellow split peas for about an hour and tried them, they were still really hard. I cooked them another half an hour and they still didn't feel soft enough in the soup. I ended up eating the soup with these and had some leftover soup for the next day. I reheated the soup for another 15 mins the next day hoping that being left in the soup overnight and with the extra heating time they would be softer. I was wrong, they still felt really hard. Not sure why this is, so unfortunately I would not buy again.
