HydraPakExpedition 8lt Water Carrier

This is without doubt the worst purchase I have made. I teach outdoor programs and spend an enormous amount of time travelling and camping. In fact, i Am sitting in the tent right now, all would be good except for the horrendous chemical taste that is not just in my mouth, but can be felt throughout my oesophagus. It is as if I have drunk a bottle of heavily bleached and chemically tainted water. i am not being hyperbolic.I Will be sending it back - this product is not just stupid, it is quite possibly dangerous. God knows what is leaching out of the plastic into my body.What are these companies doing? How is it possible to develop a product that is actually this bad? People had actual meetings and discussions about the material And somehow agreed that this material would be great. It’s as if they live in alternate universe of governed by stupidity. It’s bizarre.

Whilst I really like this item, the one big issue I have, is that after at least 5 uses, lots and lots of washing it out, including using bicarbonate soda and lemon juices, the water still tastes of the rubbery material it’s made of. (Made my coffee taste horrendous!)I understand it’ll fade in time, but I want to use something I buy from the get go, not after a significant amount of time has passed.Also, the tap attachment alway drops out of the stow arm, it’s going to be easily lost.Shame, because I do like Hydrapak, but this isn’t great.

This is a really good water pouch. The only reason I have it 4 instead of 5 starts is the fastening mechanism for spout is to loose and this wouldn't keep the spout there and risk losing it. Otherwise good quality

You have to wash the carrier out a few times to get rid of the plastic taste .
