I care not for oversized cell phones, so I cling to my aging iPhone SE 2nd generation because it's one of the smallest phones which still has (for the time being) OS upgrades. However, the battery is wearing out and it left me high and dry in more than one occasion. I'd been thinking about either replacing the phone, or having the battery replaced. In the latter case, I'd have to fork out excessive $$ for a repair for a phone that, probably, will soon become obsolete (sight) and may even damage it. Any replacement for this small phone will have to be larger. Grr, *%$*# if you do, *%$*# if you don't.This is an almost ideal fix for my problem.This self-contained battery pack comes with a case into which I needed to slip the phone by sliding it into the case from the top, so as not to twist out of place the lightning connector this case has at the bottom. This lightning connector snaps into the phone socket, and works like an external battery power pack that can be turned on or off with the toggle switch at the bottom of the rear of the case.The toggle switch, when short-pressed, shows the charge level of the battery pack. When long pressed (3+ seconds) it turn the charger on. My phone shows it's charging in the usual way. After it reached 100% charge, the charging indicator turned off, leaving the phone under its own power. The battery pack charge indicator (as opposed to the phone %charge indicator), when I short pressed the toggle switch, told me how much of the battery pack charge remained available for the next time I'm going to long-press this toggle switch.This battery pack came with some accessories that could be useful, like a screen protector sheet and a few disposable cleaning items. I don't know how durable this battery pack will be, but I suspect that my phone will become obsolete before the worst happens.The only inescapable disadvantage is the additional bulk of the battery pack, but I can live with this until the end of life of my still small enough phone comes. The case itself is nothing to write home about, but does the job it's supposed to do.For me, it hit the spot. Totally.
