Q: I've never used gesso before. What coverage can I get from a pot this size? I need to cover approx 1.5m sq. Will this be enough or do I need 2 pots?

I do not think the small one of 118 mls x 2 is enough - I would get the large pot of the 900 + mls as you can always use it for something else - Roni

Q: Can i use this to alter acylic tiles. I.e Dominos at all?

If by alter you mean repainting in to say the dots that are recessed I think this would be stable enough to be a primer for the job. But across the face of a surface that’s receiving wear and tear or being handled a lot it won’t last very long. Also it won’t adhere as well on plastic surfaces but wooden, cloth and paper surfaces would be far more long lasting.

Q: Can it be thinned and if so, what with?

I am not sure I use it straight out of the bottle and don't thin it.

Q: Can gesso be sanded to make is less gritty and smoother? I often use pencil over paint for final details.

yes I do it all the time. I use the finest wet and dry paper
