TIC GS50 8" Outdoor Weather-Resistant Omnidirectional In-Ground Subwoofer

I wanted some more bass to my deck sound system. Satellite speakers had no bass to speak of so I decided to add some with a couple of these TIC GS50 passive subwoofers.I originally wired these with the satellite speakers coming off the built in leads in these GS50’s. They have their own crossover for separating the lower frequencies. They added some bass that way, but not really enough for me.So the manual for these said you would get more bass output by not branching the satellites off of these and just using them as a standalone. I bought a 4 channel Monoprice speaker selector and wired the subs standalone instead. That definitely increased the bass output. I was happier with these subs now in the mix, but they don’t knock your socks off like the output you get with a powered subwoofer. Still an improvement for sure.

This unit produces incredible base and sounds great with satellite speakers.
