I use this to hold a small, plastic cutting board in place on a Formica counter. The mat stays in place on the counter, and the cutting board stays in place on the mat! No more chasing the cutting board, or having it slide around as I try to chop onions! Easy to clean, wipes clean with a damp cloth. Perfect!

This thing works great to stabilize my butcher block slab cutting board. The only bummer is that when I followed a link to Amazon from another site, only the 10 x 16" showed. It does okay on my 14 x 20" cutting board, but it would have been great to know it came in a larger size BEFORE I ordered it. When you search Amazon for San Jamar Cutting Board Safety Mat, a size option is presented and I ordered the larger 13 * 18" size. Borderline, but I'm not going to return the smaller one. Maybe I can find another use for it.Overall, let's face it, Amazon's search results and product pages have gone WAAAAY downhill. But to repeat, this thing does what it claims to do very very well.

This non slip mat is perfect, you put it directly on your counter and place your cutting mat/board on top of it. ZERO movement if my cutting mat when i use this safety non-slip mat. Safety is priority and setting up safety in how I/you set up how you will using a knife in your kitchen is the first priority. It's 100% waterproof I handwash with soap and water there's no need to subject it to the heat involved with a dishwasher. It is perfect. Not cute but it's nice to be reminded of the purpose of this safety may when it's visible without my cutting mat on top of it you know. It's not there to be cute it's there to keep you safe. Absolutely satisfied.

Works as expected and works well as a thin non-slip adhesive-free surface for a cutting board.Though it should be noted on the product information it seems to be listed that the number of items is 6, but I only received a single mat. I think the product is intended to be a single mat and that info is probably just an error.

Keeps my new cutting board in place. Stays put on my countertop.

Has a permanent home under my large heavy cutting board and I no longer have to place a damp paper towel underneath to keep it from sliding. Sturdy!

I can't believe it took me this long to find something like this. Cutting boards that slide around are incredibly dangerous. I tried using the grippy cabinet liner stuff you can buy in kitchen departments, but it looked ugly, had to be cut to size, and got dirty. This thing works exactly as expected and after many months, hasn't lost any 'grip'. If I could, I'd remove a tiny sliver of a star for how ugly it is, simply because I don't understand why they couldn't make it solid and in a few colors. Most of the time it's covered by a board of course, but I'd spend a couple more dollars for something easier on the eyes when the boards are washing. Not going to take a full star off for style over function, though.

I finally got tired of my wooden cutting board slipping when I bumped it, and pushed a glass bowl of my island, shattering it and ruining what I had prepared in it. I was just going to use the gripper rolls you sometimes see in drawers, when my search pulled this up. The reviews and ratings were good, and the price reasonable, so I bought one, and it works. I can't move my wooden cutting boards without lifting them. Very happy with this.
