Very tasty! Delicate Flavors, DO NOT over rehydrate
Yummy. Very flavorful. I grow many types of mushrooms, so I’m picky when buying dried from a vendor. Delicate, woodsy, and earthy musty…not like socks….earthy in a very welcome sense of the word. DO NOT over rehydrate. In fact, under rehydrate for use in soups. Delicate. Not like rehydrating a Shitake! I’ll admit I got busy, once and oops. You’ll lose all the flavor, and wonderful scents. They will become gelatinous and tasteless.

mushy and bad smelling
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Do not buy, I have been making Vietnamese egg rolls for 40 years, taught to me by a Vietnamese cook who owned a famous restaurant in Los Angeles. This was the first time i bought this brand, and it's terrible. It was mushy and smelled bad, not sure if it wasn't good or if this is normal for this company but there are so many other companies that you can use and not waste your money. Terrible, terrible, and mushy.

Great product
Love the taste and texture of these mushrooms. Easy to prepare and clean. Mixed with tofu, green onions, spinach and sweet peppers. Made a delicious and healthy meal. Good price too. Will purchase again!

So good in hot pot!
We make our own hot pot at home but I couldn't find fresh black fungus. This reconstituted beautifully and had a wonderful texture. I had also purchased another brand from a local market and this was just as good.

A Tender Product With A Pleasant Texture that Compliments Any Dish That It Is Added To
When I first saw the Vigorous Mountains Dried Black Fungus Woodear Mushrooms, the dehydrated pieces looked smaller than I had expected but my opinion changed once the product was rehydrated. The pieces were very clean and had minimal dust and dirt on them. I was impressed to find minimal grit when I found the mushrooms were reconstituted. The deep ebony colored Woodear Mushrooms plumped up and were a fair size but they were smaller than the Woodear Mushrooms I usually buy. The real test would come with the flavor. I paired them with boneless chicken thighs to make a steamed chicken dish. The mushrooms were tender with a pleasant bite to them and had a delicious flavor. The mushrooms can also be pan fried, stir fry, stewed, added to soup, risotto, and hot pot. Interestingly, there is no best by date printed on the bag that I received. It is a Product of China. When it comes to price, it is higher than if you were to purchase the Woodear mushrooms from an Asian supermarket; however, it is a convenience to place an order on Amazon and have the product shipped to your front door. It is also a great option if you do not live near an Asian supermarket. Overall, I think this is a delicious product and one that can compliment any dish that it is added to.

Love them
Great addition to soups and stews, any dish you wish to use them in. Product goes a LONG way, they rehydrate multiple times their dried size!

These mushrooms get soggy in no time.
Unfortunately, I will not purchase again, nor can I recommend these mushrooms. They get soggy and slimy in a fraction of the suggested soaking time. We tried baking them to dry them out, dry sauteing, turning them into adobe bricks, all to no avail. We then tried shorter soaking times which did little to help these mushrooms and their consistency.I purchased because I wanted to try an organic brand of woodear mushrooms but these are just not worth it.
