Nostalgic 1980s style analog radio!!
I received the radio today. Quite pleased with it. Very easy slide wheel tuning. Picks up all stations in a room with no windows. Some reviews stated it lacked bass, but is a great mid-tone radio. Slim stature. Retro circa 1985 styling. Has that 1980s boxy look. Volume is great in the low range to fill a room. Strictly an analogue radio. No DSP chip. For it's size, sound and clarity are very nice. Remember folks, this is a small analog radio. It does not have software enhance sound. Like a 60s/70s era transistor radio. Probably not for the Milenial Set. Basic, runs on 2 AA batteries. Great desk/table radio where there is no power source. Folding handle. For the over 50 age group, you will like it. Basic, portable and not a battery hog. 100 hours of power from 2 AA batteries. You can't go wrong. Nice metal grill too! I'd give it a try!!

A useful, good radio
Does the job with pretty good audio and reception for a battery radio. Wish Sony would bring back a plug-in radio in the $30-$40 range, with good audio. It's around 7" L X 5" H X 1.5 deep. Would buy again. Great to use while I sew.

Nice Analog Radio, Not Worth $60
The media could not be loaded. I like this radio. It's a bit smaller than I expected but has good sound. I like the absence of a DSP chip. I'm not sure what the price of this was originally, but I'm sure it's priced this way because it's not made anymore. Overall, I would buy again if it was cheaper. It's nice to have though, especially knowing that it's no longer being made.

Great little radio!
This radio is a nice size. Its not large nor is it too small. Its just a nice size for a table top outside or on the coffee table. If your considering to purchase the ICF-P36 over this to save a few dollars consider this. The ICF-306 has better AM reception, better sound and a large tuning scale that makes tuning into stations easier since they aren't all cramped together like they are on smaller radios. As mentioned before this radio sounds better then the ICF-P36 thanks to a larger speaker. Its nothing too crazy. But you can play this radio at higher volume levels and music does sound better. Over all this was a good purchase.

Listening to the AM local broadcast bands is a pleasure.
The Cute 306 is such a sweet sounding radio!Listening to the AM local broadcast bands is a pleasure, and the FM stations sound, crisp, clear and bright. Perfect!Search my name and the radio's model number on youtube for a full, in-depth review of this item.Features I like about this radio:* The audio quality on this portable is amazing.* The run time with 2-AA batteries is 100 hours!* The metal speaker grill that runs across the entire front looks awesome.* Separate On/Off switch. Not part of the Volume knob.* Carrying Handle.* FM and AM reception is decent, not stellar but decent.* The tuning dial is separated out nicely and its easy to read.* The fit and finish is Sony quality. Excellent.Features that could be added or improved on:* A bass boost button, or some type of tone control for the FM.* A DC Line in jack. This radio is big enough to benefit from this.* Get rid of the high gloss wrap around finish.Overall, go run out and buy one before they sell out. Its one of my best sounding portables for its price range. Enjoy your new radio!

FM section can't handle string nearby stations.
FM reception is a problem for me, I have a 48,000 WATT transmitter just 2 miles away. The strongest signal coming from that tower can appear at many places on the FM dial of cheaper analog radios. That's the case here where a very strong station appears on most of the empty frequencies on the lower half of the FM dial and also overwhelms some weaker signals including both of the NPR stations that I should be able to get. Better radios can handle this well enough. This radio is a bust on FM for that reason and the fact that I can't get my NPR stations is the deal breaker. I've tried a number of radios here and this is the worst for FM selectivity that I have personally used. I was searching for a nice simple analog radio to band scan with. The ICF-306 performs very well on AM in general but not well enough offset its lousy FM performance at my location. The controls are simple and it sounds good enough for its size. Battery life should be excellent and it would make a good emergency radio that won't weigh you down or take up much space. Build quality is acceptable (barely) but at $35 (+/-) that I paid I consider it over priced at least by pre-pandemic standards. I'm tempted to keep it and just use it for AM but I think I'll end up returning it and use the credit for something better.

Good small radio but tuning and on/off button needs attention
This SONY is a good small radio but the on/off and tuning buttons are ill placed. These buttons side back and forth and are located directly next to each other As a result, when you slide the on/off button to on or off you can very easily inadvertently and simultaneously move the tuning button. The buttons are too close together This is the only reason why I cannot give this radio 5 stars

Classic design, sound and value
This is the Cadillac of 2AA battery radios. Hard to believe the same power source that runs pocket radios fuels this rich-sounding smaller tabletop Sony. Smooth tuning, great reception, outstanding design and form factor. It’s cool when you can own a splendid object at an affordable price.
