Flame On
This thing is a fantastic kit to keep around! The ferro rod will last forever and is easy to handle during to its beefy nature. The striker had good edges and helps produce plenty of sparks. The wicks, when prepped properly light easy with the ferro rod. They emitt a nice flame for starting your tender. The kit comes in a nice little plastic storage container with easy to follow instructions. I would definitely buy again for myself or as a gift!

Outstanding Customer Service!
I am very pleased with the product. I looked thru every ferro rod kit on Amazon and it's the best. However, I wrote a complaint because there was only one ferro rod in the kit I received. Terdemor replied with a very sincere apology within 2-3 days. Now, in less than a week from my review, I just received a whole additional complete kit. That gives me plenty of spares! Thanks Terdemor!I'm going on the site to see if there is anything else I need to order.Outstanding.

Works great
Excellent. Been using it for 2 years to make fire and is still working perfectly.

Works well. Stryker needs a handle.
I like the size of the rod. Plenty of length to get a good strike every time. The actual striker is a pain to hold as it doesn’t have a handle. The rope is cool because you can move it by hand into the tinder base rather than trying to handle a fire plug. Easy to catch fire when frayed enough.

Good gear for a good price
Seems like a great little kit for a great price! Ferro rods throw lots of sparks with the included striker very easily. I will definitely buy some more at this price to build multiple fire kits!

It works as well as you could hope for
It's a ferro rod. If your looking at this, you know what it is. It works well. It sends a shower of directed sparks as you would expect. This one is a pretty good value IMO. I'm happy with the purchase. I haven't used the tinder rope because I just haven't needed it. But it's handy to know it's there if you need it. I've never blown the whistle. I don't know if it works or not, or how it sounds if it does work. The striker is a substantial metal striker. It's not some flimsy piece of tin. That's a nice touch. Being a big substantial striker, it could have some teeth to help process tinder. But if you are using a ferro rod, you probably already have another way to process tinder. The lanyard is a pretty long strand of para-cord. Although it is twisted and tied making it much shorter. I purchased this ferro rod specifically because of the para-cord lanyard. It is just convenient to have everything contained on a lanyard. I did take the whistle apart to get to the ends of the para-cord so that I could unwrap/untie it. That way I can store another ferro rod on the same lanyard, and also wear it around my neck for convenience.A ferro rod is a MUST HAVE. In a survival situation, your only other recourse is a friction fire, and that is exponentially more difficult. I find that it is easier to start a fire with a ferro rod than it is with a lighter. There are probably a few reasons for this. First, I'm sure that I prepare my tinder better to accept a spark when I'm using a ferro rod. Second, it can be difficult to direct a flame toward a fuel source, especially if it is low to the ground. A ferro rod has no problem showering sparks exactly where you want them, whether it is low to the ground or not. How many times have you burned your thumb trying to light a fire with a lighter? That's not going to happen with a ferro rod.
