This is an excellent instrument which I selected after extensive review especially that it is used by the pros. Most importantly, it provides measurements every 10-minutes so that I can pinpoint the radon hot spots in our basement and ensure the main house is safe. The app is easy to use and doesn’t require Wi-Fi or an on-line account. It loads measurements via Bluetooth and the range is very good enabling me to get measurements from the unit positioned in the basement from the comfort of the main house level.I have had a radon detector for several years which I have used to great effect to measure radon in our houses and family houses after purchase. Last year I had it recalibrated and used it to check the accuracy of the new unit. The big disadvantage of my old radon instrument was the 2-day initial sample acquisition and daily updates making hot spot radon checks ineffective as radon varies.Very happy with this unit which is going to save me a lot of wasted effort figuring out where and how I need to mitigate the radon levels in the basement.

This unit is easy to set up, connects to your phone quickly, and provides very precise continuous monitoring of radon levels. We have a split-level home and our master bedroom is in the finished part of the basement. We live in Ohio which has some of the highest radon levels in the nation so I thought this was worth the money. I'm very glad I bought this- I had used the little charcoal packet that you mail in to a radon service twice before and both came back within normal range. The problem is radon levels fluctuate throughout the day and through the seasons and weather. This device let me know our radon levels got as high as 14, and sometimes remained there. I had a radon mitigation system professionally installed and our levels rarely go above 1 now. The EPA recommends you take action for levels above 4, while the WHO recommends keeping levels below 2.7. You can see my radon levels in the included screenshot and see how they dropped when my radon mitigation system was installed at around the 4,000 hour mark.You can connect via bluetooth to an app on your phone for real-time monitoring and to download a data set of all past levels. My only complaint with this device is that the data download has no date or time information- just number of hours elapsed since the device started monitoring (see included screenshot). You could figure out the times but it would require a lot of tedious math and backwards counting. I believe this could be a very simple fix from the designer. I'm very disappointed he has not added this feature.Besides tobacco, radon is the top cause of lung cancer in the U.S. I am an oncology nurse and I can't tell you how many lung cancer patients I take care of that have never touched tobacco in their life. This device is well worth the money to protect you and your family from this odorless, invisible, slow-killing poison. The EPA and CDC estimate radon kills more people every year than drunk driving.

We bought a house and discovered we have a radon problem using a Corentium radon detector we bought on Amazon. It works fine, but only gives a near term reading and a 7 day average reading, and it takes a full day before giving results. Based on the Corentium detector we hired a radon mitigation contractor who installed the typical plumbing and fan, and using his own detector, he measured safe results and declared victory.Enter Radon Eye. We put this device in the living area where we would spend time, and quickly discovered that the levels were way above the readings the contractor had found. When we confronted him, we learned he had put his meter in a different location, and since we wanted all the rooms to be safe we had him do additional work, after which we put his detector side by side with our Radon Eye. Both produced the same results and we found that his work did not get the job done. We would have been exposed to very unsafe levels (over 20) if we had just trusted him the first time around. This is a reminder that “ignorance is NOT bliss”.He came back several times and tried different things, and none were successful. So after “investing” over $2000 in someone who was not an expert, we searched for and found someone who runs his own company and is an expert. Whereas our original contractor would send in his laborers and stop in occasionally to tell them what to do and then leave, the second gentleman spent half a day with us, discovered that the work done by the previous contractor was incomplete and totally inadequate, redid it, and now our radon levels are well within the safe range.Had it not been for our Radon Eye and the capability it provided to fully verify and document results, we would have been exposed for long periods to very unsafe radon levels. So, needless to say, we love our Radon Eye detector. It works perfectly, requires no attention or maintenance, and it gives a reading very quickly. Moreover, the graphical presentation in my phone or tablet makes it very easy to verify that the radon level is staying at safe levels. It is not a stretch to declare that this device has saved lives.
