Very good for the price
I bought this for a small 4 gallons project. After 2 weeks, still very quiet and works fine. I would buy it again! I like the pre-filter included, but I replaced the cartridge for biomax.

Excellent, Quiet Filter
I had a Tetra Quiet Flow over the tank filter that came with the tank kit I bought. It was too strong of a flow for the Betta / smaller fish and the flow wasn't adjustable not to mention, the motor very loud. After extensive research, I came across this filter. It has an adjustable flow that at its lowest setting is perfect. You also cannot hear the motor at all which is appreciated since the tank is in our den. Very happy with this purchase!

Great product for 5 gallon
I had a a Tetra filter and over the years it got noisy. The Tetra filter also took room away from fish tank. This is so quiet and takes little room in tank. I’ll just have to find filter for this.

Pretty quiet and surprisingly powerful. Get it
It's on my UNS 30C (7 gallon). All I needed was some quiet, quick/adjustable flow and this filter delivered.Filter noise is a make or break thing for me because I keep my tanks in my bedroom. I've even recently transitioned my other two bedroom tanks into non-filtered aquariums, with the only filtration being the live plants. However, with my 30C being my first high-tech tank with powerful lighting and CO2, I needed a filter that could quickly oxygenate my tank when the lights are off.I think I made a solid choice with this filter.I have an Aquaclear and QuietFlow in my hallway right outside of my door that make horrible rattling sounds and were so noisy that I had to move them out of my bedroom into the hallway. This little nano filter, after a couple minutes of passing water through sponges and media, is completely unnoticeable from my bed (quieter than my computer), and the gentle humming is actually quite pleasant. That is with the top off though. Having the top on makes it noticeably louder and a bit rattly, but I don't mind taking it off.Despite its silence, the flow from this filter is impressive. I have the prefilter sponge on and flow turned down a bit, yet it still thoroughly circulates water around my 30 cm cube, top to bottom. With the carbon pad and piece of sponge in, there's still quite a decent amount of space to put in another small to medium sized media bag. I filled mine with a handful of cycled Fluval Biomax rings, and it fit perfectly. All of this while keeping a low profile on your pretty rimless tank.I haven't even gotten to the value of this filter yet. $11 USD is an absolute steal and I don't see a reason why anybody would have to buy another nano HOB. If you've stumbled across this review (completely unincentivized and unbiased), look no further. I pray that this filter lasts longer than some of the filters that other reviewers have received, because it'll be the best $11 I've ever spent on any of my aquariums.

Nice little nano filter but it's specs are not the same as advertised.
I bought this filter for a 10 gallon aquarium even though it's advertised for 7.5 gallons and under because it's also advertised to run at 52 gallons per-hour. There is no rule of thumb here, but ideally you want to cycle the size of your whole tank at least four times in an hour at minimum. This is why I thought my aquarium being 10 gallons would run great on this little filter since it would cycle my whole tank five times in an hour. Sadly, the filter I received is marked to only run at 120 liters per-hour which is just under 32 gallons per hour. That means this would be more ideal for a nano tank that is 6 gallons and under, not the 7.5 as advertised. Now maybe I just received the wrong filter. I don't know, but I do know I'm not the only one according to the other reviews. If this is an error on the gph of the filter as advertised, then Amazon and Finnex should address it instead of selling people something other what they paid for. With all that said, I do like the design of this filter, it looks more modern than other filters that are 20+ years old and need to be redesigned badly. Things like the clear look, low profile, a compartment for your own filter media, and a pre-filter sponge on the intake smoke nearly all the antiquated competition for smaller nano tank filters. I just can't get past the fact that this is advertised to cycle 52 gallons an hour and in actuality it only cycles at 32 gallons an hour. Otherwise it would have worked for me.Here are a few pictures showing what the filter looks like on a 10 gallon should you decide to ignore my review and buy it for a 10 gallon anyways. Or maybe you just want to see what it looks like on a fish tank.
