Hard dry grass with a light load, yes, otherwise it will more resemble a plow!

How does this mount to the trailer?

You simply locate the mounting bracket on the trailer tongue, drill holes for the furnished bolts and there you have it!

to seller--do you offer another type of mounting bracket so holes do not have to be drilled in the trailer?

unfortunately as per manufacturer we do not offer any other type of mounting brackets.

If I use 2 x 12v batteries in parallel, what do I gain?

With parallel connections you still get 12v but increases the amount of energy available by 2 times. If you connect the two batteries in series what you get is 24v but will last you 1/2 the time, comparatively speaking.
